they can sleep walk to a 20 pt lead, philly cant defend them.. well, no one can.. only guys that play some d are Noel and Grant and that just blocking shots. GS can put up 150 if they want...
dallas had the game cut to one the other night with 4 minutes left in the 3rd, they ended up losing by like 24....

Yes, Cleveland are B2B, but no player played over 37 minutes and Detroit isn't that far from Cleveland and Cleveland plays at home. Timmy out should worth at least half a point, if not more. Timmy was worth 1.5 points against the Warriors (line moved 1.5 points when the news were released that he is out).
Also, it's much much much more important game to Cavs than to the Spurs. You got to be blind not to see that.
Cleveland was equal in rest against Spurs and GSW on the road, got +6 and +6.5, with Kyrie just getting back from injury in Oakland. In both times, bookies opened with lower lines and the lines went up.
They got one day's rest advantage against GSW (2 vs 1) and were -3. Spurs off two days rest, without Timmy, against Cleveland in B2B spot, should be imho -1 in Cleveland's favor, not +2.5... That's pretty big difference...

Why? Spurs are +13.9 on the season, while the Cavs are only +5.6. Even with HCA, the gap doesn't really narrow all that much. Plus, the Cavs offense on B2B has been lacking this season, and with everything I read about LBJ, Love and Irving asking to be subbed out early in games because they're gassed from the faster pace under Lue, that doesn't bode well against the top defensive team in the league. And as for any possible "revenge" angle, I think we all saw how little that means when the Warriors came to town...

Bron should be terrible in fast pace offense. He got cramps problems most of his career and so on...
On the other hand... asked to be subbed early... They played two very easy rivals in faster pace (Wolves and Suns) and then Pistons before huge look ahead. That could have had something to do with that...

One bet for tonight for now - Under 209 in Indiana. Both teams play fast pace, but both Malone and Vogel are defense first type of coaches. Previous game it was a shooting fest between the two. Hopefully this time, it will be much more relaxed. Several trends that I like point towards the Under as well.

Pace thing is cool and all but the defense is getting worse as a result of it.

JR Smith is also lost in this new offensive approach, as is the bench. Delly, R-Jeff and Moz not built for speed.

Cavs needed a few tweeks but going uptempo wasn't one of them.

If this is where they're heading they're gonna need to make some trades.

Well, just like there's a reason I don't work as a male escort, there's also a reason I don't work as a linesmaker either (I'm good, but not that good... : )

Most of the power number/ranking sites I trust (key word: trust), would have the Spurs around -5 on a neutral court, so once you factor in HCA, it's not unreasonable to assume a line of -8.5/-9.0:

Sagarin: Spurs 100.31, Cavs 95.06
Massey: Spurs 11.89, Cavs 6.07
Team Rankings: Spurs 10.6, Cavs 5.0

Having said that, if you believe the first priority of the books is to have equal action, then the -5.5/-6 we saw a few weeks ago would probably be a pretty fair number for betting purposes. Of course, power numbers/rankings don't really take everything into account (rest, injuries, revenge, day of the week : ) so our job as gamblers (and what guys like you, divol, emkee, etc... do a good job of here in the discussion thread on a daily basis) is to try and figure out why the line is what it is, and where an actual 'advantage' exists.

Personally, I don't think the Cavs personnel matches up well at all with the Spurs lineup but, as they say, that's why they play the game.

I would have a hard time taking the cavs tonight based on the changes they are working through as well as my thought process that the spurs are a much better defensive team and way more organized on offense.....the cavs probably out talent them but bazball is a team game and spurs so superior in that regard....imo...and i don't believe that it is a bigger game for the cavs than the spurs...i suspect you will see an equally energized effort from both teams
