U dont know what Farmer will give u as he appeared primed to earn a victory Monday, carrying a no-hitter into the fifth inning and a shutout into the sixth against Cincinnati. However, he was chased in that inning as the Reds scored 10 runs and went on to a 12-5 win....I was on him. Not today

Vogelsong threw 77 pitches in 3 1-3 innings, giving up three runs and seven hits with four walks in a 5-2 loss at Pittsburgh. Who knows what U get today?? Buffalo has a race for the top QB spot ao they have a little added incentive for a few of its players, including QB E.J. Manuel.Taylor and Cassel start the last two weeks and now he looks to make the most of his start. Ryan says he won't be making a decision on who his regular season starter will be until next week so not only does Manuel get a chance to shine starting this week's contest, but his two backups will let-up when they get their shots behind center later in the game. Manuel isn't being given much of a chance by most experts to land the regular season starting role even with tonight's shot, which may prove to make that chip on his shoulder a little bit bigger. Buffalo will be without a few targets in all likelihood in this one, but Manuel and the others will still be given a chance to deliver through the air. Steelers look a little sluggish in the ground game and that plays into another situation we look for in preseason play. The key to this one is the QB play from three Buffalo signal callers. I don't expect Rodgers to play a lot in this game if he does. I think the Packers just want to avoid any further injuries with their offensive players. In practice on Thursday, 3 offensive line starters did not practice. I make note of this because if this is the case, then Rodgers might not even play as they cannot afford for him to get banged up. Philly will not score enough to take the game 'over' on their own so don't worry about that. The Green Bay defense will play hard and with respect. I expect to see more field goals than anything in this game and the final score will not get close to the posted total.

College FB plays for today

FCS matchup but its the opening game of the College Football season so it deserves a look. I think North Dakota St's O should come out of the gate fast but they return on four starters on defense as they enter this season and Montana will get their pts also. This Grizzly team will push the tempo on offense with a new head coach at the helm. Bob Stitt makes his debut for Montana today and he's installed a fast-paced offense for the Grizzlies that is focused on running as many plays as possible in a game. Montana has the wide receiver talent and I am sure they are excited to be a part of this new offense which will result in even more opportunities for them. The Bison are led by star QB Wentz and with all of the returning firepower he has, North Dakota State is going to be a very dangerous offense to contend with this season. The Bison are going for their 5th straight championship at the FCS level and Wentz and company should light up the board this afternoon.
 
I've been sucking bad on these preseason unders. Bills game is a freaken shootout. 24pts and they still have 4 minutes left in the 1st qrtr.
