Back at it again after a profitable meet in 2022 (see last years thread in this section)


I’m still using RDSS & BRIS


Won’t be betting many pick 4’s or pick 5’s this meet
My focus will be on rolling daily doubles & pick 3’s



Steve Asmussen is loaded with very good 2-YOs


Wesley Ward last year at Saratoga was 37 9-7-7
I’ll be watching him very closely

Current forecast:

Thursday looks good to go. Seeing an inch of overnight rain Thurs night/Fri AM. Depending on how dry the turf is now that could sink all turf races Fri except maybe for the sprint stake. They have an MTO registered for the stake along with two regular dirt horses in the field so they're prepared to go either way. Dirt will drier by post time, should be at worst good to start and improve to fast.

Saturday looking drier, could be OK, fast and good would be my guess. Sunday forecast is rain heavy rain starting in the AM. Expecting muddy and off-turf which for me will mean start looking at Wednesday.

I threw together a late pick 5 for Thursday: 2,4 / 5,9 / 3,4 / 1,4,6,7,9 / 4,7,10

The Schuylerville always seems like it's a Pletcher single or a crapshoot, with all but 2 horses running their 2nd race ever. Five bullets may not be enough. The 7th and 8th races both have the potential for a lone speed to control them. Players might be able to single one (#9 in the 7th) or the other (#4 in the 8th) and go deeper in the finale which is a shitshow of ne'er do well maiden claimers (I had the 2, 11 and 12 as B horses) or in the 7th (adding 8 and 10).

Long shot to watch is #9 in the 6th who is 30/1 on the ML but is not being offered for claim and has a past effort that could win.
