Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp was fired from his job as an analyst for the NFL Network after being arrested in Phoenix on Monday morning. Sapp, who was in Arizona covering the Super Bowlfor NFL Network, was booked by Phoenix police on one count of soliciting prostitution and two counts of assault, both misdemeanor offenses, per the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. He is being held on a $1,500 bond.
NFL Network spokesman Alex Riethmiller said, in a statement, "Warren Sapp's contract has been terminated and he no longer works for NFL Network."

According to a statement released by the Phoenix Police Department, "officers working security at a Downtown Phoenix hotel were investigating a noise disturbance when they were contacted by a female alleging she had been assaulted." The alleged incident occurred in a guest room at the hotel early Monday morning where an argument ensued, allegedly over money. The altercation allegedly turned physical, spilling out into the hallway, per the Phoenix PD.

Sapp was then detained and transported to Phoenix Police Headquarters, where he admitted involvement in the act of prostitution, but denied assaulting either of the two involved females, per the Phoenix PD.
Sapp's court date was scheduled for Monday at 4 p.m. local time.

I don't think people should be fired for an offense like this.

People should get their lawful punishment, that's enough. It's not right to also pull the rug from under people if the act was unrelated to their job.

What I really hate is when someone loses their job for a private comment on Facebook or Twitter. Some free speech we have, huh? People should have better job security than that.

I don't see an issue with the prostitution, and if it was only that I don't think he would have been fired. I think with the stand the NFL is trying to take on violence against women, there was not a chance that he wasn't getting fired.

Sapp fucked up. Didn't he declare for bankruptcy a few years ago? Where else is he going to get paid like this while being fun too? He fucked up.

this would be third time he's hit a woman

Agree

I see nothing wrong with the prostitution thing personally but we've had this debate in the past. The fact that he harmed one of them & was trying to refuse to pay is what makes him a sleeze.

The fact that he's inarticulate as hell is what makes him a shitty NFL analyst.
