Rochclone Week One NCAAF

rochclone

Pretty much a regular
Great to be back for Week One of College Football.

My technique is different than most but every game is wagered on and is placed on a 0.2 Unit to 3.0 Unit scale. Worked well for 4-5 years. Did not work so well last year.

Season Total Plays:
Utah Over 7.5 (+115) 3.2 Units to win 3.64 Units
WKU Over 7.5 (-160) 4.80 Units to win 3.00 Units
Iowa State Over 3.0 (-165) 6.60 Units to win 4.00 Units

Alcorn State +41.0 (0.4 Units)

Gl to all tonight.

Quick write-up on a couple:

WKU -2.5--Doughty is terrific and will be one of the best QB's that Vandy will see all year. This team won the last 5 to end the season and should continue to improve in Brohm's second year. Difficult to see how WKU won't score point with Leon Allen who averaged over 118 yds/game on the ground last year. Top two WR's return as well. The concern (see Bahamas Bowl) is WKU's defense. I'm just not sure how Vandy can exploit that defense consistently. Vandy returns 18 starters including Johnny McCrary at QB. However, he only completed 51% of his passes and had a 9/8 TD:INT ratio. Ralph Webb will get his yards on the ground but with the loss of CJ Duncan for the year the Commodore receivers are lacking. I think Vandy will struggle to keep in this one. WKU 38 Vandy 28

Utah -4.5--I think the Utes are a sleeper this year. Very solid defense last year and Whittingham has kept his defensive totals (yearly) under 400 yds for the last 7 years. The defense returns 7 starters from an unit that gave up only 24.9 pts per game last year. On the offensive side of the ball Utah has a capable QB in Travis Wilson and perhaps the best RB in the nation in Devontae Booker. This team doesn't beat themselves and Rice-Eccles should be electric tonight.

Army -11.5 (0.2 Units) 13.5 (1.4 Units)
Syracuse -33.5 (1.0 Units)
Michigan State -17.0 (3.0 Units)
Baylor -36.5 (3.0 Units)
