Struggled the last two weeks. Like this slate but fading would have been profitable the last two weeks.
Wednesday Night:
UL-Lafayette -2.5 (3.0 Units)
UL-Lafayette TT Over 36.0 (1.6 Units)
The key for the Rajun Cajuns is to protect the ball. I could easily argue that App State is some fortunate TO’s and special teams play away from
being 2-2. 14 points in the Charlotte game coming from blocked punt for TD and Kickoff Return for TD.
Had a fumble return for TD against UNC. App State is a shadow of itself defensively from last year. 420 yards per game and 4.3 yards per carry are major increases from a year ago. 5.93 yards per play against a schedule that is in the 110 range.
UL-Lafayette is dynamic in the run game and should run for 250+ tonight. 7.4 yards per carry including 6.5 yards carry last week against a very good run defense in Georgia Southern (see Minnesota and LSU) Lafayette averaging 7.63 yards per play. If they can limit to one or less TO I think they win by DD as they have been very tough in the 2H with that run game.
Offensively App State is very good and they will score tonight and ultimate respect for Thomas as a flat out winner. But with double revenge for last year and a spotlight game at home I’m going to confidently back the home team.
