Rochclone Week 12 NCAAF

rochclone

Pretty much a regular
Good run the last couple of weeks. Need to update record and will try to get that accomplished this week.

Tuesday:

Eastern Michigan -17.0 (6.0 Units)
Eastern Michigan 1H -9.5 (1.6 Units)
Western Michigan -1.0 (2.8 Units)

I like Western Michigan's run game a lot tonight. I think WMU is the most talented team in the MAC...certainly on offense. They average nearly 6.7 yds per play and have been rolling the last two weeks on the ground with 399 yds rushing against Bowling Green and 382 against Ball State. Ohio's rush defense gives up 5.4 yds per carry this year and 5.3 yds in conference. Best rushing attack they have seen since Louisiana IMO. Perhaps a small payback spot as well as Ohio embarssed WMU 59-14 last year. I don't read too much into revenge but there is that angle as well. WMU 41 Ohio 28

Eastern Michigan should throttle Akron tonight but they will need to be competent on the offensive line. Getting to a bowl game at EMU is a major accomplishment and at 4-5 they need this win tonight and either NIU or Kent State to get to a bowl game. Like Chris Creighton as a coach and they have bounced back well after poor performances under him in the last 3 years. But this is also a major fade of Akron. They have scored 9 points combined the last 4 weeks. The defense isn't horrible but the offense is terrible. 256 yds per game, 1.9 yds per carry, 39 sacks allowed, 10.2 points per game. Haven't had a pulse in the last 4 weeks and if EMU can get up 10-14 points then they will quit. I see this as a 35-7 type of game.

Gl to all.

Thanks fellas. Good night last night.

Horrible time management by Toledo on that final drive. Should have at least had a shot at OT.

Thursday:
Buffalo -5.5 (6.0 Units)
UNC +4.0 (3.0 Units)
UNC TT Over 22.5 (2.2 Units)

The MAC should be determined along the o-line and d-lines. Kent State has struggled mightily in the last three outings at rush defense. They are giving up 265 yards on the ground over the last three games. Over 5.2 yards per carry for the year. The Kent o-line has given up 30 sacks this year. Buffalo averaging over 224 yards per game on the ground albeit at 4.4 yards per carry. However they are committed to running the ball and the Golden Flashes have been very susceptible over the last month outside of Akron. The Buffalo defense is nails...Giving up less than 300 yards per game. Less than 90 yards rushing and 2.7 yards per carry. Additionally they have gotten to the QB 29 times this year at over 11% of the passing attempts. If Buffalo is even in the TO battle this is a 2 TD game just based upon the line play. Lance Leipold is a very good coach and should have an opportunity at a higher level in the next 2-3 years. Lots of Division III titles in Wisconsin.

Gl to everyone.

Buffalo game was disgusting....

Friday:
Louisiana Tech +6.5 (1.6Units)
San Diego State -1.0 (3.0 Units)

Louisiana Tech dealing with suspensions but they occurred earlier in the week and the back-up QB appears at least capable. Marshall's offense only scoring 26 points a game and I could certainly see a 27-24 type of win for Marshall but it appears that prior to the suspension that LaTech would have been a favorite on a neutral not sure you can justify a 5-7 point swing based on the suspensions.

San Diego State is elite on the defensive front. They force a lot of turnovers and if they had a competent head coach they would likely be 9-0 but alas they have Rocky Long. The king of letting inferior opponents stick around and win. However, Fresno State will struggle running the ball and their QB is prone to turnovers. I see a San Diego State 24-14 type of win tonight.

Gl to all.
