My thoughts on the Cincy-Memphis game.

Much love for Memphis in this one and the reverse line movement reminds a bit of the Arkansas State/ULL line movement last week. Home team with weeknight game. I think Memphis is much improved under Justin Fuente but regardless of that improvement they have some substantial limitations on offense. 359 yds/game and only averaging 20.2 points per game. Moreover, Paxton Lynch has struggled with a 3:5 TD/Int ratio. The Tigers have been competitive but ultimately they have yet to get that big win. Additionally, the SMU/Memphis score is a tad misleading given the fact that SMU was up 31-3 at halftime and 34-10 at the start of the 4th quarter before Memphis scored 19 points in the 4th quarter. Memphis' defense is only giving up 22.5 ppg and only 331 ypg. They are solid against the run but have struggled against the pass giving up 232 ypg.

For Cincy they are just as good on defense as Memphis and probably better in the trenches on both sides of the line. Cincy is averaging 34 ppg on offense and racking up 467 ypg. 275 ypg through the air. Kay is completing 71.5% of his passes and has 13 TD's to only 4 INT's. The Bearcats have ran the ball effectively behind an experienced offensive line. Defensively they are giving up only 17.6 ppg and only 286 ypg. Ultimately it comes down to Cincy laying less than a FG on the road with a superior offense and at worst a push on defense. I realize the Bearcats have looked like shit on the road. Throw out the Illinois game because Munchie goes down in the first half. And the South Florida game looks like a freak show. 4 turnovers for the Bearcats and the 26 points for South Florida came on a block FG for a TD and a fumble return for a TD. And despite all of that they still had an opportunity to win in the last few minutes of that game. If the Bearcats can stay away from 3 turnovers or more than I think they win this one easily.
