Quick ODU Thoughts

Some teams cant handle winning. Marshall was a terrible spot but more disappointing was ODU showed up and weren't ready to play. I fully believe it was due in part to the spot (game before JMU) and people starting to talk playoffs (and top 25 votes).

In the first half they had 3 turnovers plus 2 times give up on downs inside the 5 yard line. Still were in it in the 3rd quarter and kept turning the ball over (and on downs).

While Im disappointed that we could have potentially gotten more talk of top 25 and also some playoff talk, what it does is sets me up to load up on them vs. JMU.

I dont have the time for a lot of analysis on this one but I have been eyeing this game all season. (I think the team may have been too :) JMU has a really good defense and will be at home. They have not faced tough competition though. They can run the ball but I think their inability to throw (unlike Marshall) is going to be a big factor in this game. Best of luck!

Like ODU here for sure....was hoping to get a total at 52.5 and go under....but 47.5 leaves me less enthusiastic.....lol
 
Not going to have much here this week. Pretty swamped and pretty disappointed. I dont know how the wheels fell off the track so quickly. Its like they have no backbone.

They are favored by 2 touchdowns this week and there is no way I could predict them to win by 2 scores after what I've seen the last 2 weeks.
 
This team is so weird. 3 missed field goals, completely dominating the game until late and they have to sneak out with a 3 point win.

The play that most represents this team is up 24-7 near the goaline. TD probably puts them to bed and they throw a pick. Ends up giving up 2 TDs.

Lou Monroe is so bad. The one thing they do well is run the ball but I dont think its going to matter. ODU is decnt at stopping the run and I expect ODU to get up on them early and force Monroe to play from behind. I expect a pretty easy cover here. Having said that, this team plays so sloppy that I wouldn't bet too much on it.
 
Troys offense is bad. I went thorugh and even the games they scored, they ran the ball poorly (in general). They scored 48 vs. Texas State but ran 32 times for 43 yards. Texas State has one of the worst defense around. 3.3 ypc (36 carries for 121 yards) and 6.9 ypa 17-29 203 yards. Offensive line has given up 3.8 sacks per game.

On defense, they give up 5.5 yards per play. They allow 39 carries for 161 yards (4.2 ypc) and 17-26 for 196 yards (7.5 ypa).

ODUs defense is a little bit better than average. They are decent both on the ground and through the air so I dont see many advantages for Troy here. On offense, ODU averags 7 yards a play. 38 carries for 201 yards and 16-27 for 250 yards through the air. They dont give up many sack (1.6 per game).

Troys schedule has been terrible.

If ODU doesn't toy around and turn it over, this is over 3Q.
 
Thursday game for them last year seemed to be a get right game too. Winning big at home 47-19 over Georgia Southern in a PK game.

Troy’s Thursday game last year they got smacked around by Texas State.

I like your side but that line move is a little concerning. Could be people just taking a number over 10.

This team is one of the best in G5. They just toy around with teams and turn the ball over too much. This was a gift, I should have bet more but they love dicking around and it forrces me to not go too crazy on these bets.
 
in the first half last night, third and long, play clock getting stale, ODU brought 8 men to the line of scrimmage.. I was yelling "call a timeout! call a timeout!" troy quarterback snapped the ball - zero adjustments - buried on his ass in less than 2 seconds. probably 1.4 seconds. just let it happen
 
Georgia State literally does nothing well, lol. An example but look at how great our offense has been on the season, its just destroying teams.

457 yards per game
7 yards per play
5.6 yards per rush
9.2 yards per pass

Then compare to what the Georgia State defense gives up:

455 yards per game
6.6 yards per play
5.2 yards per rush
8.8 yards per pass

The only thing that would stop me from taking the points is Rahne will call off the dogs early.

The only teams worse in teh SB:

La Monroe (we won by 25 on the road)
Troy won by 33 at home
Arkansas State (didnt play)

I would look more at maybe first half ODU team totals. I expect this to be a blowout but Rahne will run out the clock in the second half. They have 4-5 wins where they have put up like 500 yards and gave up less than 250. This should be another one.
