Public Handicapper Picks--Week 13

TahoeLegend

Pretty much a regular
Colin Cowherd had a perfect 5-0 last week to take the season lead. Pam Maldonado was 8-3, Todd Fuhrman 6-2. Kevin Sheehan is posting good numbers, but I only have two weeks history on him so left him below the others for now.

Greg McElroy:

I do not know if he did this intentionally (have to assume so) but he did not make many selections directly agst the spread.

And, no "Giant Killers" [underdog upsets] given,

Here is his podcast in a thumbnail.

Mizzu @ OU -9.5. He's calling the game. OU defense will over-match Mizzu offense and the relatively inexperienced QB. Likewise he believes Mizzu defense may give OU offense trouble. I have to read btw the lines of his comments. He sounded confident OU will win but worried re the margin of victory and/or even potential upset.

Miami @ VaTech +17.5 Bottom line "VaTech defense cannot stop Miami." He made no agst spread pick but concluded with "Miami wins in convincing fashion." He earlier had said Miami needs style points in last 2 games in order to have a chance at playoffs.

USC @ Oregon -9.5 He started out with these stats: Lanning is 24-2 at home. USC's last win at Oregon was 2011. Riley is 1-7 on the road agst ranked opponents. He concluded with "Oregon by 10." He did like USC receivers and QB Maiva. Overall he was confident of Duck win but his spread call "by 10" was weak.

Ark @ Texas -10.5. For some reason I did not grasp he was fairly confident of a good Texas offensive performance. He also focused on turnovers and Texas advantage re Arkansas. He concluded with another non-spread selection by saying: "I'll take Texas but Arkansas will make it uncomfortable for first 2 to 2.5 qtrs, maybe 3."

Syracuse @ ND -34.5 He talked about the game bc his producer is ND fan. He kept it short and said "Notre Dame by a million."

KSt @ Utah -16.5 Another no spread selection, this time of Utes. He did not like KState defense agst Utes. He said KSt will need to score on almost every possession to get the upset. He concluded with: "I don't like the match-up at all (for KState)."

Pitt @ GaTech -2.5 He took GaTech -2.5. He did note that in the games with common opponents of NCST and Boston College that Pitt won both handily but GaTech lost to NSCT and escaped with narrow victory agst B.C. But he seemed confident that coachong staff, QB reliability and defense GATech would win and cover.

BYU @ Cincy +1.5 He liked BYU offense agst Cincy. He took BYU and fairly confidently.

I'm on Va Tech as well. I don't need alot to fade Cristobal at this time of the year. If he can take his team to Blacksburg and win by 3+ touchdowns, then hats off to him. I don't care how mediocre VT is.

All the public handicappers are going with Cincinnati, but that's no surprise. They've faded BYU all year

Yesterday was the final show for ESPN Bets Live. Hate to see it end because while they weren't that great on their picks they provided a ton of information every show. Not sure where to find all Stanford Steve's picks now because he made half of his picks on that show
