Bolded Pro-Bowl winners had their conference win the SB that year.
19 non-SB winning conferences have won SU, to 18 SB winning conferences.

Thanks for your response. And, yes, games like this probably deserve a pass.

For what it's worth, according to my research:

The NFC has NOT LED at the HALF the last 7 (0-5-2 SU). They did manage a Tie the last 2 games, and that gave them their only ATS wins (2-5).

The designated “Home” team (assuming that like the past few years, it alternates every year) has won the game SU the last 5 times and is 16-2 the last 18! During that time there was an 8-0 SU streak. I could only find odds for the last 10 years, so I can’t give the ATS breakdown, but the last 10 were 7-3 or 7-2-1 for the Home team.

The last 2 games were Under, and the previous 6 before that were Over.

Taking the NFC in the first half might make sense (especially getting a point or two). How long can the NFC continue to not win the first half?

I like the NFC + 1.5 for the first half. I think the trend of not leading at the half can end here with the lineup of starters they have. Like the extra motivation also (for #21). We'll see.

Loss. AFC won the half 27-21. The NFC is now 0-6-2 SU in the first half.

NFC won the game 42-30, so the designated Home team is now 6-0 and 17-2 SU and 8-3 ATS last 11.

That is borderline ridiculous. It's such a meaningless designation who's the home team and who's not, and yet it's on a remarkable streak.

Good find. Very weird, but good find.

Also, going off Bet's numbers, it seems like we can pencil in an AFC win next year.

Joe, I know, it is ridiculous! A big reason I didn't want to take a side for the game. Didn't feel comfortable either way.

I don't follow. Does it have something to do with the Browns winning the Super Bowl next year? (Is there something besides the AFC being the Home team in the Pro Bowl next year?)

Well, in a metaphysical sense everything has something to do with the Browns winning the Super Bowl, so, yes.

But more specifically if you look at Bet's numbers above, these two sides seem to have fallen into a pattern. For the last five years they've alternated SU winners from NFC to AFC.

Okay, yeah. I see that. I think I've grown to have a dislike of alternating streaks--I'm always thinking they should be ending.

But the trend is your friend.
