That includes eight major winners: Love, John Daly, David Duval, Steve Elkington, Shaun Micheel, Todd Hamilton, Lee Janzen and Bob Tway.
Duval committed Thursday.
It will be the first tournament since February for the 2001 British Open champion and former No. 1 player in the world.
He played in five events through February, making three cuts, before putting his season on hold to spend time with his wife, Susie, who experienced a difficult pregnancy and child birth.
The top players on the current PGA Tour money list entered are Boo Weekley (23rd, with $2.4 million) and Brett Wetterich (27th, $2.1 million).
Also in the field is Heath Slocum, a former Mississippi resident who won the 2005 event and is 34th on the money list with $1.8 million.
Others with Mississippi ties entered are Glen Day, Jim Gallagher Jr. and Vance Veazey.
Defending champion D.J. Trahan, who withdrew from Turning Stone because of a wrist injury, said this week that he won't know until Monday or Tuesday if he can play in defense of his title.
Two others who withdrew at Turning Stone, Daly (influenza) and Paul Stankowski (shoulder injury), are in the Viking field. Watkins said he hadn't heard from either yet.
One withdrawal from earlier this week that hurt, Watkins said, was Bubba Watson, the Tour long-drive leader.
"He's so much fun to watch," Watkins said of Watson. "But it was amazing (Friday). We only had five withdrawals. Folks that are committed to playing are staying in. They're in.
"And top to bottom, this is a heck of a field."
