Connelly has some explanations on ESPN but the link isn't working correctly.

Feel free to discuss and debate!

He could be absolutely amazing and he'd still be throwing to scrubs and playing behind an OL that got zero push last year (and doesn't project much better this year).

I hear their punter is amazing again though and this qb is definitely an improvement. I think i might be an improvement.

Gronowski was always a timely and very effective runner at SDSU as well. But always had good receiving targets and TEs there. Iowa is weak here? Maybe dumb question given their offense. But they’ve had years with some decent options to throw to. Now?

I heard him say in the lead up to SDSU playing Iowa to open 2023 that they were his favorite team as a kid. So his commitment should be personal if that translates to performance.

For any team undergoing a significant amount of change - ignore his early numbers. Gotten better, but he still can't adjust for injuries, coaching changes, major personnel changes, etc. Keeping things OBJECTIVE is the ultimate goal, he's not gonna manually go : oh shit, Miami ain't the top O anymore, neither is Michigan the #1 D - I think I'll make them #20.

He just lets the numbers work it out over a few weeks.

I wouldn't make Mich D #1 either but this D will be VERY good. Top 10 at seasons end.

Maybe lol but Reno is objective 95% of the time when it comes to power rankings and betting on or against his squad.
My spidey gambling senses go into overdrive when you or Reno bet against UM/Lions/Tigers etc

They would with Twink as well if he ever bet against LSU

That’s why he posted it hahaha
Not at all sir.

Was I surprised by that? Absolutely. I would have expected something like 13-16 within his metrics.

The Kool aid is pretty high through a few weeks of camp with the defense. They could be special.

Offensively, a lot depends on the OL. This group was not good last year after 3 straight years of top 5 OL play. The word is that they are growing/gelling fastly. We shall see, but I'm encouraged.

Bottom line is Bryce starts at QB but let's not expect a miracle. A few abnormally good starts by frosh QBs late last decade really started to see the perspective. I read some interesting stats on young QBs that I need to find that will open sons eyes. Next year is when I expect him to be the "show". This year will be flashes and probably some irritating turnovers.

The running game should be fantastic. The country was able to see Marshall pound out 100 yards in the Bama bowl game. Justice Haynes was a helluva free agent pickup.

TE play won't fall much even with a 1st round pick gone. A lot of talent.

WR was disgraceful last year. This is the unknown. Every report I've seen of McCulley has been positive. They need someone to be the guy. The next few years will see a lot of WR talent coming in, for the obvious reason.

Chip is the type of OC that I bet receives some hate this year but is lauded next year. Why? I feel like they will try to shorten games early on and let the rookie QB adjust slowly. But, he'll bring some wrinkles that will be quite exciting.

TBD on the offensive flow. Via a few different takes from quasi insiders I have the feeling they will be cautious, at least to start the year. With this good of a defense (potentially), no reason to put them in bad positions.
