Well, at least we don't have a Peacock WC game like last year (Miami at KC). I missed most of the 2nd quarter due to a frozen screen.

Wish there was an article out there on how the decisions were made for which network got which game. Typically, in the regular season NBC SNF gets the best available matchup. Here they have probably the third most interesting NFC game.

Was CBS required to take AFC games both days? I'm guessing Sunday was set up as a traditional CBS/AFC and Fox/NFC day. It looks to me like ABC and Amazon got the best options in each conference.

I tried looking for an article, nothing. .

Years back, NBC got first dibs on the Saturday night game.

Then whoever has not had the first choice in the regular season week 18 would get that Sunday (between Fox and CBS).

Monday night is always a 4-5 (either conference) I'm assuming so they can schedule ahead.

I'm assuming that if Philly and Tampa win their games then my Leo's will play next Sunday. .

I can't imagine they would make Rams/Vikings winner turn around and play on Saturday.

So if Wash or GB pull upsets, we'll have a game downtown next Saturday night.

My guess was the Min-Det loser was always going to get the extra day. Pitt/Balt just continues the Hard Knock Saturday streak. Houston in the opener is a running joke by now. That left CBS with Buffalo/Denver for Sunday. The one real "choice" was between GB/Phil and Wash/TB for Sunday afternoon/night. IMO Fox must've gotten dibs there. I don't see a scenario where they wouldn't take the Philly market plus Green Bay's national interest.

Agreed.

Last year #1 seeds both played on Saturday because the Bills game got moved to Monday so two teams needed to be fit into the Sunday window.

2022 both #1 seeds played on Saturday. Dallas won the MNF 5/4 game and the other Sunday game was a highly compelling Bills/Bengals rematch after the Hamlin game.

2021 both #1 seeds again played on Saturday.

2020 was the last time a #1 seed played on Sunday, the Chiefs hosted the Browns.

Interesting.

So has a Monday night matchup been forced to play the next Saturday?

Sorry if I read this wrong.
