The Cardinals' Josh Shaw has been suspended through at least the 2020 season for betting on NFL games on multiple occasions, though the league says no contests were compromised.

I think if you’re an employee of any kind of a professional sports franchise it’s illegal for you to bet on that particular sport. I worked for a guy that was in marketing for the blazers and he had to sign papers acknowledging that he would lose his job if he gambled on NBA

Yup. Just like employees and relatives of employees can’t win radio station contests if they work there. Lottery is the same in other states as well.

I think the players that bet on games, the smart ones, just ask a friend to make the bet for them. And that friend probably asks another person to make the bet to distance the player. Just thinking outloud.
