Play of the Year

should be an inspirational game, with the legend passing away last night

Are the players familiar with this character? I assume they are. I can't imagine the Phillies being emotionally invested with the trade rumors now swirling in full force. Valdes is garbage and Mad Max's resume speaks for itself.

yes they know who he is, and certainly the fans do. there will be a chant tonight for it after the anthem. everyone who has been to a tiger, lion or wings game knows who he is i would say.

in the middle of summer where there isnt much motivation in a 162 game, it would seem right they went out and won one for the icon.

Who are you talking about? The "eat em up tigers" guy?

Just read some homeless guy in Philly known around town for his John Kruk jersey tumbled off a bridge to his death. Phils should fly with the angels tonight.

Tears were literally flowing down tigers players faces tonight during each AB ...truly was a show of solidarity and fortitude...

This could be one of the worst GOY calls ever....

I mean seriously, 5-0 in the first inning, 10-0 final, and in just 2 hours and 20 minutes?

Where was the drama? The worry that maybe this call wasn't that good to be a GOY? Where was the sudden 7 run rally with bases loaded and no outs for a little sweat?

It was so easy, that no one will remember how easy this GOY was.....in fact, no one will remember this in a year.....nothing was left emblazoned on anyone's mind about this actual game.

Great call.

Thanks fellas. That was refreshingly easy. Even though I knew going into the game that it was the most one-sided matchup in terms of variables that I've seen in years, there's that thought in the back of your mind that Detroit could somehow not hit the bum or get an appropriate lead and then make it dicey. Thankfully it was not even close to being in doubt.

Great call. Played Tigers RL and also wrapped them in a two-teamer with USA soccer today. Thanks for the heads up on this angle/motivational spot.

Before the game, the rain came down in buckets, no doubt tears from heaven from the passing of a Detroit icon.

Then, before you knew it, the sun was beaming down, like rays from the heavens shining on the field.

While some clouds were mixed in throughout the night, there was no doubt the tigers played their best and perhaps most complete game of the year for the two fallen soldiers just down the road on gratiot hours before...

I celebrated myself with countless lap dances at the club in memory of the legend.

EAT EM UP TIGERS was chanted far and wide on the streets of Detroit, in the casino and even in the strip club the DJ paid homage. Meanwhile, other homeless capitalized on the death of the icon as they saw their profits soar as the rich were left to donate their $ elsewhere.

by the way, nice win, no doubt he played a role, it wasnt the pitching matchup, dont let anybody fool you.
