Baseball savant is really good for seeing pitchers spin, heat Maps, and few other things to see what guys throwing and how nasty it is. I’ve gotten to the point I like to judge pitchers off the stuff they throwing and where they locating it, not based off the result. I’ve always had a grip with xfip, it a decent tool but I don’t agree with its tendency to call it luck that a pitcher has the ability to generate weak contact, pitch to contact. So Greg Maddux was just really lucky for a entire HOF career? My ass. Don’t give me the result of pitch, give me its velo, spin, break and I’ll decide if it was a good pitch!!

It looks like Bubic has lost all of the speed gains from spring training and the first couple of games. This bet is gonna lose and the Ashcraft bet lost. Back to the drawing board down almost 14 units.
