Pick Club VII

Pretty much a regular
With the NFL season upon us, I felt it was time to relaunch what has become one of the most widely anticipated contests of not only CTG but all of the intraweb. Welcome to the 7th installment of the contest created in 2009, by myself, to specifically determine the best cappers on CTG. In the past this contest has consisted of both NCAA and NFL picks, but this year we will be making a change there. Moving forward this will be a NFL only contest. I wasn't going to do the contest this year because grading was so timely with all of the various NCAA plays people could make, it would take me a minimum of an hour or two every week to grade, time I just don't have anymore with work and family demands. That being said, here are the rules:

Pick Club Rules
1. The first club of Pick Club is, do not talk about Pick Club.
2. The second rule of Pick Club is, do NOT talk about Pick Club.
3. NFL lines will be published between Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon for all games being played on Sunday & Monday. Thursday games will not be eligible for this contest. Lines will be published from a qualified source, by either myself or another mod of CTG.
4. You must make 5 qualifying plays each week (sides or totals), you don't have to make plays every week if you chose not to, but you will be at a severe disadvantage if you don't as this is a 10 week cumulative contest.
5. You must post these plays no later than 12pm Central Standard Time, every Saturday. Late posts, will not be allowed, at all, period, none whatsoever. In the past we had a much earlier cut off because of college, this is much more accommodating to everyone. There will be NO bend on this rule.
6. The winner of the contest will be the capper who, through 50 plays (weeks 1-10 of the NFL season) has the highest number of winning plays selected. There will be no consideration for % with pushes and so forth. So out of 50 plays, the highest number of wins alone will determine the winner.
7. If there is a tie, we will use week 10's picks to determine the tie breaker. So the capper with the better record in week 10 will be champ in the case of the tie. If there is still at tie, we will use week 9, then 8 and so forth.
8. The winner of the contest will receive two tickets to the NFL game of their choice, regular season only, weeks 11 through 17 of the NFL season. The seats will be lowers, between the end zones at least and ideally the best seats available.
9. There is no limit to entries, but you must enter by Saturday, September 10 at 12pm CST, you cannot enter week 2, and it would honestly be quite pointless.
10. To enter, simply post your 5 plays with the posted line, below your screen name in the subject of the post.
Example:
Eggman
Bears +6
Colts -3
Lions/Seahawks O45
Steelers +4
49ers/Bucs U54

Best of luck to all of you, this is always a great contest with lots of participation, with a great prize at stake here, I expect a lot of entries en route to crowning the best NFL capper on CTG for 2016!!!

Going to need some help posting the previous winners for sure, memory is going in my old age:

just saw this, very generous

That would be awesome Fondy!!! I'm already planning on going so that would be perfect.

Looks like about 20 entries in less than a day. This forum will get busy this week. Could be a great turnout.

Will there be a new thread every week or just one long continuation?

So if someone posts picks at 12 CST they would be an hour after CDT which is what we're currently observing. Safe to say picks are due at 12 Central Time whether it's daylight savings or standard time? I don't want to be DQ'd before this starts ya know.

Then get your picks in by 10am....lol.

Chicago time, my time, whatever you want to call it. It is 12:46am right now and the cut off is Saturday at 12pm on Saturday, Chicago time.

I had to do a little research and it is 11:48pm CST right now, 12:48 CDT...who knew?

Yes some central observes daylight savings and some doesn't. Chicago does, so go by that. I was just giving him a hard time.

Lol I don't care, learned something tonight egg...It's CST in Saskatchewan and some of those countries rex lives and whores around in. I've never heard of CDT

KJ just an abbreviation for Central Daylight Time. Come November 6th we'll be back to standard time. It is fucked up that some don't observe it.
