Pelicans And Sixers Trade Today

In transit, arriving late.
What is the verdict? Someone more into the NBA schematics explain to me the scenarios.

The Pelicans have legit the future best player in the NBA and a top 5 now likely.

Bagged down with some rel bullshit though. The Eric Gordon debacle and etc has just been a disaster....Let's say Jrue can get healthy and things shake out. A couple questions:

Should Monty Williams be the coach going forward?

What are the scenarios exactly with the 76ers?

Will this team make the playoffs next year?

I would like to see this team to play a fast pace ,, think thry have the players to do so

What to do with B Roberts too? He has certainly played well....

I hear you cash.....have to figure they could with Jrue and a full season

Not sure Monty wants to run like that tho

Monty definitely does Not want to run but he realizes where this team is what it is right now- Has there been any talk of changing the style or coach?
roberts has been and would be a nice backup on this team and you have to have some insurance for JRUE. plus he has such a nice cap contact.
Does Anderson make it all the way back? I was watching that game when he got hit,, was so random and didnt look bad (freakish accident).

Tyreke evans and Eric gordon aren't playing defense any time soon.. is Jason smith the real deal?? How does he look when on the floor with Davis, i believe it is a good combination.... And they are in the west - Not only do you need to play defense you need to score...i don't think they will be good enough to slow down the good teams in the west so they need to be able to run with them...

The gordon contract sucks - maybe you can package him for something or keep him and run, run.... my .02

From Sixers side:

The trade allowed us to get Noel. I wasn't a fan of Noel, but I understand the hype. A defensive force at the rim in the NBA is rare, and he could change an entire game. I will give him a chance.

We got rid of Holiday, who is a nice little PG but not a game changer. More importantly we shed his salary: 11mil a year through 2016/2017.

Lucked out on Carter-Williams, who could develop into a top-5 PG. He is an upgrade over Holiday.

We also received an additional 1st round pick in 2014, which is top 5 lottery protected. Sixers fans are rooting for the Pelicans to lose, but not collapse. It is important to have multiple picks in this draft, which is very deep.

I thought the trade was fair/even when it happened. But the way Carter-Williams has played, this trade looks great from the Sixers side. Holiday turned out to be expendable, which makes any production from Noel and the future 1st round pick a bonus.

Curious to see what Pelicans do with Evans, guy is a good compliment for Brow.
The pieces are there, especially if Rhino gets back to full health.

The coach is the issue, get him out now.

He has athletes on his team and they want to run - he doesn't want that. (from my point of view)

Tyreke is a nice compliment - takes some of the scoring burden off of Davis..

Rivers looking like a bust? or not getting a good chance to show he can play?

def not sold on Rivers, but who thought he would be very good? No one really

Tyreke is nice....just a weird team

Monty is overwhelmed at times as a coach. The pelicans never get into a set quickly. For being half court minded he sure doesn't know how to add any wrinkles into the scheme.
