*What are the odds the Leafs manage to win back to back games? I'll take a chance and say not that great...

Saturday:

11/7/2015 1:05 PM NHL Hockey 51 Vancouver Canucks* -155 vs Buffalo Sabres
11/7/2015 1:05 PM NHL Hockey 51 Vancouver Canucks* Over 2½ -150 vs Buffalo Sabres
11/7/2015 1:05 PM NHL Hockey 52 Buffalo Sabres* Under 2½ -140 vs Vancouver Canucks

*Even though he hasn't played all that well as of late, going to go with the Ryan Miller angle here. Plus, it's been night and day for the Canucks on the road this season (2-3-3 at home, 4-0-1 on the road). That coupled with Linus Ullmark and his stellar .907 save percentage in the net for the Sabres should be enough to see the Canucks through in this one. As for the cxxbum approach, be nice if they weren't all so heavily juiced, but I figure worse case scenario I go 1-2, so I can live with that (and if I go 0-3, blame cxbbum and, to a lesser extent, teeed... : )

Monday:

11/16/2015 7:35 PM NHL Hockey 10 Ottawa Senators* Over 2½ -130 vs Detroit Red Wings *2 UNITS*
*Starting to remember why I stopped betting hockey a few years ago... Anyways, seems a little odd to be playing the same team for a third time in the past three weeks but, at the same time, it can also be somewhat instructive for gambling purposes. Sens with 3 goals in each of the first two games against the Wings, and an appreciable spike in shots over our season average with 35 and 36. Plus, our power play's been buzzing along as of late with 6 goals the past 4 games, so the ingredients for goals are there, especially with Jimmy Howard coming off a terrible game against the Sharks (3 goals on 14 shots).

Tuesday;

11/24/2015 8:35 PM NHL Hockey 1 Ottawa Senators/Dallas Stars* Over 5½ -115
*Our games in Dallas tend to be high scoring affairs, so given the way the Stars offense has started out the season, not much reason to think tonight should be any different.

Wednesday:

11/25/2015 7:05 PM NHL Hockey 64 Washington Capitals* Over 2½ -150 vs Winnipeg Jets
11/25/2015 9:05 PM NHL Hockey 73 Ottawa Senators/Colorado Avalanche* Over 5½ +100

*That Washington total seems a little too good to be true at 2.5 (albeit juiced) given how porous the Winnipeg defense was its last road trip. And the Caps just seem to score, score and score some more whenever they play the Thrashers/Jets (3 or more in 8 of the last 10). As for the Sens, another odd line considering the game in Dallas last night, as well as the high scoring matchups with the Avalanche the past few seasons, but we'll see how it goes...

Friday:

11/27/2015 7:05 PM NHL Hockey 11 Pittsburgh Penguins/Columbus Blue Jackets* Over 5½ +130
11/27/2015 8:35 PM NHL Hockey 21 Vancouver Canucks/Dallas Stars* Over 5½ -115

*Taking me some time to adjust to the 'new' NHL - not used to seeing totals set at 5 or juiced under 5.5 on such a regular basis. Ride or collide, I guess, but it's hard for me to shake old habits, so here's two more overs for tonight. Pens/Blue Jackets tends to go over (20-8 the last 28, 12-2 the last 14 at Nationwide). Pittsburgh obviously not scoring at a high rate this season (so much for my prediction of Kessel scoring 50+), and even less so on the road, but the offense started showing signs of (finally) busting out during their homestand, so hopefully it carries over. As for the Jackets, that's a little tougher to tell, but Fleury's looked a little shaky as of late (other than the 2-1 loss to these same Blue Jackets a few weeks ago), so don't think they have trouble finding the back of the net either. Vancouver/Dallas another series that tends to trend over (5-1 the last 6 in Big 'D'). Would have just taken the Stars team total given the way they've been scoring this season, as well as the Canucks defensive woes on the road, but 3.5 didn't really appeal to me (obviously someone has to score 4 or more in order for the game to go over, but meh... Might as well just take the Stars PL in that case, and I'm terrible at sides, so...) Plus, just based on the Sens game at American Airlines the other night, Stars should be giving up goals on a regular basis if Niemi's the starter for a while (5 goals on 16 shots and looked pretty bad on all of them).

Wednesday:

12/2/2015 7:35 PM NHL Hockey 51 Toronto Maple Leafs/Winnipeg Jets* Over 5½ +105
*Over's 7-0 the last 7 meetings but, more importantly, seems like a prime letdown spot for two rookie goaltenders coming off emotional NHL debuts. We'll see...

Thurdsay:

12/3/2015 7:35 PM NHL Hockey 5 Chicago Blackhawks* -135 vs Ottawa Senators
12/3/2015 7:35 PM NHL Hockey 5 Chicago Blackhawks* Over 2½ -140 vs Ottawa Senators

*Not a fan of going against the home team, but with both Zibanajed and Michalek out, don't really see where the secondary scoring is going to come from. And given how brutal the defense has been the past little while, that's probably not a good thing.
