I have to admit my knocks on JJ come from when he was 19 years old. They let Sam go for a reason. He’s a fresh 22. No way to predict his future.

Johnson will go as Caleb goes.

If Caleb becomes a star a top 5 Qb then Johnson will cement himself as a head coach.

If Caleb does not ascend to the elite levels of quarterbacking , Johnson will get fired..

Many new coaches are married to the success of their starting Qb.


The best example is coach Kevin Oconnel who had an arranged marriage With Sam Darnold. It could have ended in divorce but Oconnel somehow made the marriage work with Darnold.

Johnson is Married to Caleb and hopefully they can stay married.

Gbay was young and ascending, they were one dominant player ( reggie white) away from superbowl.

Allowing Macarty to sit for a full year as a backup under the tutelage of one of all the time coaching legends Kevin Oconnel was huge.

Oconnel’ was winning games with Joshua Dobbs! This man can coach, he was on Mcvays staff so likely he is one of the premier offensive minds in the league.
