New England -350 to win it all

... good bet?

my buddy just called me from the wynn sportsbook on the strip, and this is the line posted there. i hate laying big numbers, but i cannot make a case for any other team.

i believe the other odds were giants +1200, chargers +1000, packers +450

let's hear it... what do you guys think?

Well, I just took the Pack tonight at +570 so that number is one I don't like.

But at MB right now NE is -310 so -350 isn't so bad.

i grabbed -130 at matchbook before the jag game for a dime.

Absolutely excellent buy. If you can get them through the Charger game you'll have a huge middle chance in the SB.

Really good shopping.

I pray NE kicks the shit outta SD so I can get a decent line on GB in the SB.

+500 or thereabouts on GB to win the SB seems uninteresting. You will get the same line on GB if they meet NE in the finals as expected.

-130??? That is impossible. Basically even odds for New England to win it doesn't sound correct at all...it was double that in most places, around -250 from what I saw.

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR class=evenrow><TD>Super Bowl XLII</TD><TD>Winner</TD><TD>New England (to win)</TD><TD align=right>-138</TD><TD align=right>1000.00</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

This is my pending wager. I'm sorry, I thought it was -130 but it was 138. Still not bad at all.

i'd believe it because jax was ne's toughest test. ne now doesn't have the modern-day rival colts to play either, which was still a possibility before ne beat jax.

vrabel, seau, bruschi and company will bitch slap rivers, norv will get completely outcoached by belichick, and brady, moss and company will hold their own against a good sd defense.

then there's nyg or the pack, both inferior, both outmatched in almost every aspect. and for those that want to argue about the close nyg/pats game, take a look at belichick's record when he gets to play a team for the second time in a season -- then, take a look at belichick's record when he's had more than a week to prepare for a game... prime example, pats vs rams in 2001 in new orleans for the sb. rams murdered pats during regular season, belichick reviewed film and gameplan, pats win sb. belichick saw that the pats ran 46 blitzes during the reg season game, no of which work -- in sb he called 4 blitzes. belichick saw that faulk was the center of the greatest show on turf -- ne's defense eliminated faulk. belichick saw that stl's passing attack depended primarily on timing from warner to bruce/holt/proehl -- pats cb's bumped wr's and disrupted timing.

face it, belichick could very well be the best "big game" coach we have ever seen in football. and imo he is the best coach we've ever seen in the niffel.
