i'd believe it because jax was ne's toughest test. ne now doesn't have the modern-day rival colts to play either, which was still a possibility before ne beat jax.
vrabel, seau, bruschi and company will bitch slap rivers, norv will get completely outcoached by belichick, and brady, moss and company will hold their own against a good sd defense.
then there's nyg or the pack, both inferior, both outmatched in almost every aspect. and for those that want to argue about the close nyg/pats game, take a look at belichick's record when he gets to play a team for the second time in a season -- then, take a look at belichick's record when he's had more than a week to prepare for a game... prime example, pats vs rams in 2001 in new orleans for the sb. rams murdered pats during regular season, belichick reviewed film and gameplan, pats win sb. belichick saw that the pats ran 46 blitzes during the reg season game, no of which work -- in sb he called 4 blitzes. belichick saw that faulk was the center of the greatest show on turf -- ne's defense eliminated faulk. belichick saw that stl's passing attack depended primarily on timing from warner to bruce/holt/proehl -- pats cb's bumped wr's and disrupted timing.
face it, belichick could very well be the best "big game" coach we have ever seen in football. and imo he is the best coach we've ever seen in the niffel.
