Great trip. Bet two football games all weekend and lost both but video poker made up for that and actually came home with more than we went with and that rarely happens. Las Vegas is changing. If you have ever been there and gone to Harrah's do you remember the party pit? It's gone. And in it's place are two slot machine carousels that no one plays. Not sure what genius came up with that one because the party pit tables were always jammed. Also, they always had 12 craps tables. Now down to two. Lots of other goofy shit like if you have a slot ticket that reads say $20.95. When you go to cash the ticket at one of the machines they only give you the $20. You have to take a voucher that spits out to the cashier for the $.95. True, few people ever do that so the casino keeps the change but other casinos (MGM) are at least having you choose a charity to donate to. People will stop playing there. El Dorado just bought Caesars and they are headed for trouble. Will be bought out again in less than two years. These guys are clowns.
Speaking of craps, tables are going away all over the city at all the casinos. Most had 8 tables and now down to two and couldn't find a table for less than $25 and that was 10 strip casinos on a Thursday afternoon. Bellagio (that one I expected), Caesars (kind of figures there as well), Planet Hollywood (I've never seen a $25 table there always $10 or $15) Mirage, Cosmopolitan, Aria, Harrahs' Palazzo, Venetian, and Linq (the fucking Linq?????) Most casinos lowest was $50 and $100 minimums. What the fuck is that about?
Cool new things..... the food court at Resorts World is fantastic. All of it. Check out Area 15 off the strip and do the rum tour and go in the Cosmic market. Also went to Circus Circus because we haven't been there in 25 years, yes, it's still there. (their craps tables were $25 minimum. At Circus Circus! Fuck me. They should be paying us to play anything there). Had some fun playing arcade games upstairs. Was playing a race game with my wife against 6 nine year olds. You know the one where you squirt water in a clowns mouth and first to break a balloon wins. So I win and raise my hands in the air and shout "In your face!" Got some dirty looks for that one. Next game this little kid wins, throws his hands in the air and looks at me and screams "In your face!' His mom glared at me. Just doing my part to end participation trophies. By the way, if you do win anything give it to one of the little kids moms. Why would you want to walk around Vegas with a stuffed bear?
By the way, I'm guessing it was Tim on the plane from Baltimore to Vegas because as we were boarding a guy stops me and says "Aren't you that sports handicapper guy?" I have met about 15 posters in person so it could be one of them or it was just a coincidence that I look like someone because we were all wearing masks. I asked him his name and he just laughed. Weird.
