NBA Scheduling and ML dogs for Friday & Saturday

redbearde

Pretty much a regular
my record is dogshit so far:

ML dogs: 10-7, 58.82%, +11.34 units
Spreads: 5-10-1, 31.25%, -5.67 units

a LOT of teams are in the midst of 4th in 5 runs right now. Thursday is their day off.

Indiana @ Toronto

I'm astounded by Indiana's lack of ability on offense. They missed a LOT of good shots against the Bullets, Washington gave them a chance to get back into it, and they just couldn't shoot worth a shit. This has been a running theme for Indy in the 2H, but it started earlier on Wednesday.

Indiana is in the midst of their 4th in 5 on the road. Toronto is NOT. Before the Utah loss on Wednesday, they had 3 days off. Now they stay home for Indy Friday, and then they wait to see GSW on Sunday. The Raptors should be in a good rhythm spot against a frankly weak shooting team (how? I don't know, but it is what it is). Raptors chalk should be too much to swallow for me, though... but here's wherein they are.

Raptors:

Portland @ Philly

How nice. They haven't noticed that Portland is a good team yet. Portland is a very dangerous team, especially at home...and Roy is a 4th quarter closer like no one I've seen yet this year. Some teams have played zone against these kids in the 4th, and Roy rains 3 after 3 after 3......it's DAMNED impressive. And Travis Outlaw even looks like a good player.

okay, like many others Portland is in the midst of a 4th in 5 - this is the 3rd, and they had a day off after losing in Denver. Now they go to Philly as dogs...again......with a day off. I think they'll be rested and ready to continue this trip in a VERY winnable game. Here is where they are:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 7</td><td>vs New Orleans</td><td>W 93-90</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Jack 20/Przybilla 11/Blake 9</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 9</td><td>vs Memphis</td><td>W 110-98</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Aldridge 30/Aldridge 10/Blake 8</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 10</td><td>vs Dallas</td><td>W 91-82</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Roy 32/Przybilla 10/Blake 9</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 13</td><td>vs Detroit</td><td>W 102-94</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Aldridge 22/Aldridge 10/Blake 8</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>at Denver</td><td>L 93-110</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Aldridge 15/Aldridge 9/Roy 5</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>at Philadelphia</td><td colspan="2">7:00 pm</td><td>

76ers are off a short road trip of 2 games (Dallas and New Orleans) and 4 straight losses. Here's what it looks like:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 7</td><td>vs Charlotte</td><td>W 94-63</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Iguodala 19/Dalembert 13/Williams 5</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 9</td><td>vs Toronto</td><td>L 103-105</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Iguodala 26/Evans 12/Iguodala 7</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 11</td><td>vs New Orleans</td><td>L 72-93</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Iguodala 17/Dalembert 10/Miller 6</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 13</td><td>at Dallas</td><td>L 84-99</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Dalembert 18/Iguodala 12/Iguodala 8</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>at New Orleans</td><td>L 76-95</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Green 20/Dalembert 13/Iguodala 7</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>vs Portland</td><td colspan="2">7:00 pm</td><td>

So note, this will be 4 in 6...and travelling...AND it's one of those 1 game at home sandwiches. Though there are 3 days of rest after tonight for them, and they're in desperate need of a win. If I can get a decent ML number, then I'll be on Portland.

SuperSonics at Hawks

Seattle is on a brutal stretch right now. Road trip, 4th in 6, 3rd of a 4th in 5 (and 5th in 7), and they just won last night at Miami. Now, we can shit on Miami, but Flash was back, and he was looking DAMNED good. If he can start and get 24 quality minutes (and Shaq breaks his leg so they don't have to play him), then Miami might just turn into a decent team. Or at least tolerable. Anyway, here's what Seattle looks like:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 9</td><td>vs Utah</td><td>L 101-103</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Durant 20/Collison 12/Watson 11</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 11</td><td>vs Detroit</td><td>L 103-107</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Durant 19/Wilcox 9/Ridnour 7</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 13</td><td>at Orlando</td><td>L 76-103</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Collison 15/Green 7/West 4</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>at Miami</td><td>W 104-95</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Wilcox 20/Collison 11/West 6</td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>at Atlanta</td><td colspan="2">7:30 pm</td><td>
</td><td>
</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 17</td><td>at Charlotte</td></tr></tbody></table>

Tough tough spot. And they don't really have the cohesion that Portland has - they were up by over 20 at Miami because of great shooting, especially outside the arc, and they can't do that every night. I don't think they can win at Atlanta unless the Hawks lose a few more players to injury.

The Hawks, meanwhile, are NOT on a tough stretch right now, and they have one day off between a couple of relatively easier teams....the schedule they've HAD hasn't been easy at all, and their low record is deceptive. I think this is a better than .500 team this year as long as they don't have several catastrophic injuries. Josh Smith and Acie Law's injuries don't look but so bad so far...

here's where the Hawks are:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 2</td><td>vs Dallas</td><td>W 101-94</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Johnson 28/Smith 11/Smith 4</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 4</td><td>at Detroit</td><td>L 91-92</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Johnson 23/Horford 11/Johnson 4</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 6</td><td>at New Jersey</td><td>L 82-87</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Smith 18/Smith 7/Smith 6</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 7</td><td>vs Phoenix</td><td>W 105-96</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Smith 22/Horford 15/Johnson 10</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 9</td><td>at Boston</td><td>L 83-106</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Horford 16/Horford 7/Law IV 5</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 11</td><td>vs Washington</td><td>L 90-101</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Smith 23/Williams 12/Williams 6</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>vs Charlotte</td><td>W 117-109</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Johnson 34/Horford 13/Johnson 10</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>vs Seattle</td><td colspan="2">7:30 pm</td><td>

</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 17</td><td>at Milwaukee</td><td colspan="2">8:30 pm</td></tr></tbody></table>

I'd be inclined to lay chalk with Atlanta on Friday...

Magic @ Nets

Orlando tried everything they could to lose at Cleveland on Wednesday, but fortunately Hedo tied up Lebron instead of fouling him again. The Nets face the annual (monthly) 'serious' injury to Vince Carter's pussy, and neither team is facing the 4th in 5 here.

Orlando IS in the midst of a 5 in 7 - AT Jersey tonight is the 3rd - and it shouldn't be a big problem. Here is where they are:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 9</td><td>at New York</td><td>W 112-102</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Nelson 24/Howard 20/Nelson 10</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 10</td><td>vs Phoenix</td><td>L 96-106</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Howard 33/Howard 18/Arroyo 8</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 13</td><td>vs Seattle</td><td>W 103-76</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Lewis 22/Howard 12/Nelson 6</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>at Cleveland</td><td>W 117-116</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Howard 35/Howard 16/Nelson 11</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>at New Jersey</td><td colspan="2">7:30 pm</td><td>

</td><td>
</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 19</td><td>at New Orleans</td><td colspan="2">8:00 pm</td></tr></tbody></table>

the Nets are off a complete blowout to the Celtics. Again. I, personally, don't believe VC will bother to hurry back, and he'll milk that sore pussy for as long as he can. If the Magic can contain RJ, and I think they can (Bogans), AND they can keep someone fairly close to Kidd (Jameer), then Magic should be able to beat all holy hell out of the Nets.

anyway, this is toughest stretch (a 3rd in 4) that the Nets will face this month.

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" height="347" width="507"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 10</td><td>vs Boston</td><td>L 101-112</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Jefferson 28/Kidd 6/Kidd 12</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 12</td><td>vs New Orleans</td><td>L 82-84</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Jefferson 32/Krstic 10/Kidd 10</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>at Boston</td><td>L 69-91</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Jefferson 21/Kidd 9/Kidd 7</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>vs Orlando</td><td colspan="2">7:30 pm</td><td>

</td><td>
</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 27</td><td>vs Memphis</td></tr></tbody></table>

I wouldn't worry too much about rest either way, and I think the Nets will have a damned tough time winning. Note, the Magic are a remarkable 5-0 on the road...this includes wins at Cleveland, Washington, Minnesota, Toronto, and New York. Not the greatest of teams, but they're different sorts of teams, running, halfcourt, pound the paint.....and the Magic overcame them all.

Utah @ Cleveland

Oh God I hope the Cavs are favorites again...

Neither team has a tough scheduling spot, but the Cavs have got to be mad about yet another loss when they could well have won that game. Just...one more play...one more quality piece of execution. Just one.

And now they face a tough Utah team that beat them in Utah last week.

Utah does face a 3rd in 4 Saturday, but that's at Indiana, and with any luck the line will be lower for them...it IS the last game in a road trip, but I still think Utah will get it done. This IS the 8th game in the last 2 weeks for the Cavs...not sure that's tough, especially with a day of rest before their last two, but these last two losses and being under .500 must feel terrible after so much work and travel. HAHAHA...

Jazz look like this:

Poor Miami. Even with Flash back, I just don't see how they can compete in this one. With him back, though, the line might be a bit lower. Soemthing to consider.

If I can get under DD for the Celtics (hah!), then I'll probably be on that. These are two of the better defensive squads in the league, though, so the under might be a good option. It will be the end of a 4th in 5 for Miami at Jersey on the 17th.

This game really is uninteresting to me. Unless the Bullets are a 6 or 8 pt fave or some other inane shit. Washington does face a 4 in 5 from Nov 20th to 24th. Take note:

Nov 20: in DC vs Philly
Nov 21: AT Charlotte
Nov 23: in DC vs Golden St
Nov 24: AT Memphis

This is tailor made for a couple horrible Bullets losses to bad teams.

Houston @ San Antonio

Houston has lost T-Mac for an indeterminate amount of time (at least a week so the story goes). They're also int he midst of a 4 in 5, and they've lost the opening two. Looks bad for them to me. Now they face the Spurs (admittedly of a B2B), and then they go home to get run out off the court by Phoenix.

here's the scheduling for Houston:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 9</td><td>vs Milwaukee</td><td>W 104-88</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Ming 28/Ming 10/McGrady 8</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 11</td><td>at Charlotte</td><td>W 85-82</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Ming 34/Battier 10/Ming 4</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 13</td><td>at Memphis</td><td>L 99-105</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">McGrady 41/Ming 7/Alston 6</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>vs LA Lakers</td><td>L 90-93</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Ming 26/Ming 13/Alston 7</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>at San Antonio</td><td colspan="2">8:00 pm</td><td>
</td><td>
</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 17</td><td>vs Phoenix</td><td colspan="2">8:30 pm</td></tr></tbody></table>

The Spurs don't have far to travel, so don't worry too much about the home away home thing.

Spurs Scheduling:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 6</td><td>at Houston</td><td>L 81-89</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Ginobili 23/Duncan 10/Parker 5</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 7</td><td>vs Miami</td><td>W 88-78</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Ginobili 25/Elson 14/Parker 8</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 9</td><td>at New Orleans</td><td>W 97-85</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Parker 27/Duncan 12/Parker 8</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 11</td><td>vs Milwaukee</td><td>W 113-88</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Ginobili 21/Duncan 10/Parker 5</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 13</td><td>vs LA Lakers</td><td>W 107-92</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Parker 26/Oberto 6/Parker 9</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 15</td><td>at Dallas</td><td colspan="2">8:00 pm</td><td>
</td><td>
</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>vs Houston</td><td colspan="2">8:00 pm</td></tr></tbody></table>

San Antonio has a shot for a little vengeance vs Houston for that loss on the 6th. If this chalk isn't very heavy (and it may not be with the Spurs' B2B performances thus far), then I'll probably roll with the Timmys on this B2B spot.

New Orleans @ Memphis

Hornets are in the midst of a 5th in 7...with incessant travel. Memphis comes home in the midst of a 4th in 5 off a disappointing loss to the fucks in Milwaukee Wednesday night. The Hornets beat all holy hell out of a struggling 76ers squad then, too. No reason to think either team has an advantage scheduling wise, but with the Grizz having trouble getting by tight defense, and the Hornets putting some good defensive efforts together...I think an under play might be worthwhile...especially if the total is up nearer to 210 than 200.

Here's where they are...Hornets:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 11</td><td>at Philadelphia</td><td>W 93-72</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Paul 16/Chandler 12/Paul 9</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 12</td><td>at New Jersey</td><td>W 84-82</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Paul 27/Chandler 12/Paul 7</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>vs Philadelphia</td><td>W 95-76</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Peterson 27/Chandler 10/Paul 10</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>at Memphis</td><td colspan="2">8:00 pm</td><td>
</td><td>
</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 17</td><td>at Minnesota</td><td colspan="2">8:00 pm</td></tr></tbody></table>

Grizzlies:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 13</td><td>vs Houston</td><td>W 105-99</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Gasol 26/Lowry 8/Stoudamire 6</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>at Milwaukee</td><td>L 99-102</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Yag 26/Milicic 13/Conley 6</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="yspscbrdbg"> <td class="ysptblhdr" height="18" width="14%">

</td><td></td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 17</td><td>at Dallas</td><td colspan="2">8:30 pm</td></tr></tbody></table>

So, I'll be lookin at an under, perhaps.

thanks Macdamn...I guess it gives me something to do. That's nice.

The Knicks could not have played worse on Wednesday, and Randolph couldn't hit a shot from absolute point-blank range. I thought he might end up tossed with techs because he kept getting plastered in the paint, and the refs weren't calling fouls. I'm pretty sure he'll be gone again on Friday as he'll be back with his family to plant his grandmother, but Marbury -IS- back, and he played fairly well against the Clippers. He couldn't hit shit from the field, but he did do well from the FT line, and he committed 5 great fouls. ;)

anyway...NYK is in the midst of a helluva schedule:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 9</td><td>vs Orlando</td><td>L 102-112</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Randolph 23/Randolph 13/Marbury 7</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 11</td><td>vs Miami</td><td>L 72-75</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Curry 19/Lee 14/Marbury 6</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 13</td><td>at Phoenix</td><td>L 102-113</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Crawford 21/Jones 9/Robinson 5</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>at LA Clippers</td><td>L 81-84</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Curry 16/Randolph 19/Marbury 4</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>at Sacramento</td><td colspan="2">10:00 pm</td><td>
</td><td>
</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 17</td><td>at Denver</td></tr></tbody></table>

and the Kings are in a relatively light spot, though they've lost the other two games this week.

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 9</td><td>vs Cleveland</td><td>L 91-93</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Martin 32/Miller 10/Miller 3</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 10</td><td>vs Minnesota</td><td>W 100-93</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Martin 29/Miller 16/Martin 3</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 12</td><td>at Utah</td><td>L 93-117</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Salmons 22/Moore 9/Thomas 4</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>at Minnesota</td><td>L 103-108</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Martin 22/Miller 8/Martin 6</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>vs New York</td><td colspan="2">10:00 pm</td></tr></tbody></table>

This one's at home again, and they have Artest back. At least for now. And I can't imagine there being much value in a dog in this one. My guess is that the Kings will be favored, but I'm not sure I'd be able to back the Knicks......might have to lay the chalk, in fact. The Knicks are tired, and I think they're demoralized. If this chalk is particularly light, then I'll be on the Kings.

Pistons @ Lakers

I think the Lakers will lose. I don't know where the line will be, but it should be short chalk. Now go read BAR's thread to find out what will happen in the Stones' game. Both teams get a day off, and both have to travel to LA. Hell, the Pistons have to travel less than the Lakers do...

the Pistons are here:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 8</td><td>at Chicago</td><td>L 93-97</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Wallace 36/McDyess 9/Hamilton 6</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 9</td><td>vs LA Clippers</td><td>W 103-79</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Billups 23/Maxiell 8/Hamilton 10</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 11</td><td>at Seattle</td><td>W 107-103</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Hamilton 32/McDyess 15/Prince 6</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 13</td><td>at Portland</td><td>L 94-102</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Prince 20/Hamilton 7/Billups 9</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>at Golden State</td><td>W 111-104</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Wallace 22/Maxiell 14/Murray 12</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>at LA Lakers</td><td colspan="2">10:30 pm</td><td>

the Lakers are here:

</td><td>
</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 18</td><td>vs Chicago</td><td colspan="2">9:30 pm</td></tr></tbody></table>

I might lay the small road chalk. depends on how high it is and how industrious I'm feeling.

Great thread. You are eyeing some of the same stuff I am intially.

I'll update more later if it comes out but I highely doubt we see Billups or Dice playing at Staples tomorrow.

Last year Detroit blew them out twice fwiw.

Clippers @ Golden St

The Clippers played horribly and managed to hold on for a win against the Knicks. The Warriors played great for a half, and the pistons came back and blew em away in the second half.

Here's where the Warriors can win one...if they can get Maggette and Mobley to push it. If Cassell is in there, he'll be too smart to do that, and he'll probably get a lot of offensive fouls called due to GSW's aggression. But I don't see how LA can compete with the Warriors' quickness and speed. The Clips will give up outside shots, and if the Warriors can hit a useful number then they'll be right in there, but it's going to be awful tough for the Warriors to guard Kaman. And he's hitting foul shots at a great rate...90%+ I think.

anyway, Clippers are here:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 11</td><td>vs Cleveland</td><td>L 95-103</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Cassell 28/Maggette 11/Cassell 5</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>vs New York</td><td>W 84-81</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Kaman 14/Kaman 18/Mobley 7</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>at Golden State</td><td colspan="2">10:30 pm</td><td>

and GSW is here:

<table class="yspwhitebg" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18">Nov 6</td><td>vs Cleveland</td><td>L 104-108</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Davis 29/Biedrins 11/Davis 10</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 8</td><td>vs Dallas</td><td>L 115-120</td><td> </td><td colspan="2">Davis 37/Azubuike 11/Ellis 7</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 14</td><td>vs Detroit</td><td>L 104-111</td><td>Highlights</td><td colspan="2">Davis 29/Biedrins 11/Davis 10</td></tr><tr><td colspan="7" height="5"><spacer type="block" height="1" width="1"></td></tr> <tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 16</td><td>vs LA Clippers</td><td colspan="2">10:30 pm</td><td>

</td><td>
</td></tr><tr class="ysprow2"><td height="18"> Nov 24</td><td>at Philadelphia</td><td colspan="2">7:00 pm</td></tr></tbody></table>

the number should be an interesting exercise in frustration for the books here. I can see anywhere from -3.5 either way.

Note, the Warriors face a 4th in 5 and 5th in 7 next week from the 18th to the 24th. It'll be just in time for Stephen Jackson to play, but he won't be conditioned by games yet. Philly on Nov 24th might just get a good win.....Baron Davis won't be able to play 48 minutes in all those games.

Great thread. You are eyeing some of the same stuff I am intially.

I'll update more later if it comes out but I highely doubt we see Billups or Dice playing at Staples tomorrow.

Last year Detroit blew them out twice fwiw.

Thanks BAR...high praise, bro.

Honestly........the Stones have a damn deep bench - losing Billups is certainly a loss, but it's hardly catastrophic. McDyess is getting better this year, of course, but again, I don't think he's irreplaceable.

What this might do is make for a GREAT line for the pistons.....

So, I'm looking at:

light Raptors chalk
Raptors/Indiana Under
Portland ML (hoping for a dog, here)
Atlanta chalk
Magic to win....not sure about laying chalk, tho.
Utah ML
Celtics at less than DD chalk
San Antonio small chalk - I won't play much
NO/Memphis - under
Kings - not sure what or if I'll play, but I don't like the Knicks here. A lot.
Pistons - perhaps a great line vs Lakers without Chauncey or Dice
GSW/Clips - underdog should be interesting here

that's a lot of plays. I don't want to play anywhere near that many, so I'll be paring that shit down.

Thanks BAR...high praise, bro.

I do not disagree at all. Just like last year when Billups got hurt in Phx on the trip Flip Steps in and gets 18 points and 12 assists. Affalo or as Rasheed calls him "show-be" is a solid young rookie. Johnson got some run last night and was active and Maxiell was a beast. If the line is right, I will think about it a lot. Prince does such a great job on KB24 so thats huge. Rasheed is also 'playing' each game so far this year. He is really intense and carried Detroit in the 4th last night.

no shit. it was a great performance by Sheed. With those two guys out, I really think we ought to see VERY short chalk...like -1 or -2. Perhaps with stupidity betting we could even manage a pk'em.

damn.. I just looked.

Flip had 41 minutes, went 6 of 12 from the field, 2 of 3 from 3pt line, and he had 15pts, 12 assists, and 6 rebounds.

daaaamn.

Yes Flip did..and

He hit a three at 2nd qtr buzzer and another jumper at 3rd qtr buzzer. Both huge momentum changers.

Pistons +122.5
Magic -3.5 (-106)

Well, I tossed out Detroit +125 mostly as a joke last night and someone took Lakers -125. Either I'm really smart or really dumb depending on where the line comes out at...

Great stuff indeed Red. Wondering what else are you looking at now since the lines are out.

GL :shake:

I do lean the Nets though. 4 point dogs at home...hm...

rwhmobile, at 5-11-1, I hope I'm not the best...
:shake:

satyr, what about the Nets is interesting to you?

Pistons +122.5
Magic -3.5 (-106)
adding:
Utah pk -106
Trailblazers +2 (+109)- it's either that or get a pick at +125. I think 2 full points is worth 16 cents.

I also like the Under in the Hornets and Grizzlies...would prefer a few more points, tho...I won't be adding more on the Pistons wager. It's 22 cents higher, though, and I honestly thought the stones would be favored. Not sure what's up with that...

Regarding Detroit @ Lakers...

Pistons are 11-2-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings.
Pistons are 4-1-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Los Angeles.
Pistons are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 Friday games.
Lakers are 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 home games.
Lakers are 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 games as a favorite.
Lakers are 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 games as a home favorite.
Lakers are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games following a ATS win.
Lakers are 3-11-1 ATS in their last 15 games playing on 1 days rest.
Lakers are 2-10-1 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
Lakers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite of 0.5-4.5.
Lakers are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. Eastern Conference.
Lakers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a home favorite of 0.5-4.5.

Detroit last year:

won 97-83 Kobe had 19pts in 36 minutes.

and 93-78. Kobe had 18pts in 38 minutes.

....food for thought.

GL red, I'm with you on Detroit and Portland tonight. Those chalk plays look pretty solid too bro.

I would have waited on the det line. If it comes out Chauncy is out, you would have gotten a better number.

Thanks abcs... haha.next, tell me I shouldn't have bet on Oregon last night too....cus Dixon blew out his knee.;)I thought Detroit would be a fave. I was wrong. It's happened before, and it'll happen again. Finding a number I didn't get the best of ain't that hard. In any event, I expect the billups-mcdyess-out news is why it's where it is already.course...I may well be wrong. come back at 10:35 tonight and let me know.:shake:

Not sure if that was a backhanded slap or what.. I was just saying they are 50/50 or questionable. Either way just discussing it with ya thats all.

well the thing that caught my interest is that the Nets are 4 point dogs and I think they can play without Carter, but this isn't about Carter at all, they're just playing like shit right now. Pass for me.

But I'm taking a few others ;)

GL

adding
Raptors 2H -6 (-105)

abcs, that was a verbal tease while pinching your ass.

Satyr, well, I hope they lose spectacularly then. ;)

Jpicks, thanks man. GL tonight, bro!

Seattle @ Charlotte

Sonics are at the end of a 4th in 5. (and 5th in 7)
Sonics played into 2OTs friday night - defeating the Hawks.
Bobcats have had 2 days of rest.

I see no line yet...though I'm thinking I may just wait until halftime and take the Bobkitties 2H.

Portland @ Washington

Portland is on a 4th in 5. They go from Philly to Washington.
Washington is on a 3rd in 4. They go from Minny to Washington.
Caron Butler played 46 mins. Gilbert played 38 mins. Jamison played 34 mins.

If not for Portland's horrific meltdown against the 76ers, I'd be all over the trailblazers. Now....I just don't fucking know, so I may just not play it til I see how the kids react. +6 might yield a pretty good ML dog, tho.....

Utah @ Indiana

Jazz lost a tough one to Lebron last night.
Pacers spent a lot losing to the Raptors, too.
Jazz are on a 3rd in 4. They travel from Cleveland to Indiana.
Pacers are on a 4th in 5. They travel from Toronto to Indiana.
Pacers are on a 7 game losing streak.

No way in fucking HELL do I play the Pacers tomorrow. -6.5 is probably good to go, but again, I think a 2H fade of the Pacers is a good move.

Miami @ New Jersey

Heat are on a 4th in 5 and 5 in 7 with constant travel.
Heat go home for a few days after this one.
Heat travel from Boston to Jersey (how depressing in and of itself...)
Nets are on a 3rd in 4, but they've been home (this'll be the second one).
Nets didn't try real hard for the win last night - should be rested.
Heat have one of the best defensive efficiencies in the nation.

If they sit Shaq, then the Flash could very well win. They sure did play the hell out of their game at Boston, though. I think an Under could be a great play, but Under 177 is awfully close to where I think it might end up. Mid 80s game.......grumble. Opinion on the side is Heat. I probably won't do that because I can't bring myself to lay chalk with that shitass team. Flash is good, but he played 38 minutes last night, and this'll be his first B2B since he started playing again. Can he?

New Orleans @ Minnesota

Hornets are on a 5th in 7 with constant travel.
Hornets are on the last day of a road trip.
Minny had a meltdown in the 4th against Washington that rivals Portland's.
Jefferson played 36 mins. McCants & Walker played 33 mins each.
Hornets are off an OT game in Memphis, and now travel to Minnesota.
Paul played 43 mins. Chandler played 42 mins. West played 40 mins. Peja played 35 mins.

The Hornets had better get good bench play. Minnesota has a decent chance at getting a win over a good team.

Atlanta @ Milwaukee

Bucks are off 2 days rest and a win.
Hawks are travelling after losing a tough one in 2OT.
Johnson & Horford played 52 mins. Williams & Childress played 44 mins. Stoudamire played 37 mins.

If Josh Smith stays out again, and Yi stays the fuck out of the paint, then the Bucks should have a very good shot at a win. Again, I'm thinking of taking a 2H play on the Bucks. Does Lorenzen Wright have any bearing on anything if he plays?

Phoenix @ Houston

Suns have had a light schedule this week.
Rockets are on 4th in 5 and 5th in 7 with constant travel.
Rockets got beat down in the 4th Q last night in a tough defensive game.

Who the fuck is Scola? He only led the Rockets in points with 20 off of 10 for 11 from the field.

Scola played 29 mins. Yao played 39 mins. Batt-E-YAY played 39 mins. Rafer "I am a bigger ball-hog than Smush" Alston played 43 mins.
Houston played 8 men on Friday.

How the fuck are they going to play on Saturday vs the Suns?

Suns -6.5 (-110)

Memphis @ Dallas

Mavs have had a light week of 3 games with rest.
Grizz are at the end of a 4th in 5 with constant travel.
Memphis lost an OT game on Friday night.
Yag played 38 mins. Gasol played 41 mins. Miller played 40 mins. Navarro played 33 mins.

Dallas -13.5

They can't make this line high enough. No play for me. Can I get a prop on Memphis OVER in number of turnovers? It's going to be BRUTAL for them. Might do a 2H play on the Mavs.....I'll at least look.

New York @ Denver

Knicks are on a fun-filled week of travel and losses.
Knicks are on a 4th in 5 and 5th in 7. Traveling. At Denver.
Knicks lost an OT game last night.
Lee played 49 mins. Crawford playe 48 mins. Nate Robinson played 35 mins. Starbury played 43 mins.
Denver is very well rested...2 days off after crushing Portland Wed. night.
As JPicks pointed out earlier this week, Denver has a good defensive efficiency.

Not sure about Randolph, but Collins played on Friday. Not sure he matters, anyway. Even if Randolph is back, he may not be in the best basketball frame of mind....he sure wasn't at LA on Wednesday - he sucked all sorts of ass, and even doing so, he couldn't hit shit.

I like the idea of playing a 2H...hell I seem to like a lot of 2Hs saturday.

Chicago @ LA Clips

Bulls had 1 game this week - loss to Suns.
Clips are on 3rd in 4.
Clips lost to the Warriors 122-105.
Kaman played 41 mins. Thomas played 37 mins. Cat played 35 mins. Sam played 30 mins.

I don't like either side of this one...but consider....

Bulls are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings.
Bulls are 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 games as a favorite of 0.5-4.5.
Bulls are 5-18 ATS in their last 23 vs. NBA Pacific.
Bulls are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games.
Bulls are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Conference.
Bulls are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite.
Bulls are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games as a road favorite of 0.5-4.5.
Bulls are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
Bulls are 0-8-1 ATS in their last 9 Saturday games.

The line is Clips +1.5 If it rises a bit, I might play the homedog ML.

okay, I have an offer up for the Clippers that I don't expect to get matched.

aside from that, I'll be looking for the following on Saturday.

Charlotte 2H as long as Felton isn't dead.
Utah 2H as long as Williams isn't dead.
MilK 2H as long as Mike Redd isn't dead.
Dallas 2H, and player or two can be dead.
Denver 2H as long as Iverson and Melo aren't dead.
Portland ML, maybe.
Minnesota ML.
Clips ML if someone takes it.

Suns -6.5 (-110) is a play

upon reading the Great Killa's thread (like the great pumpkin), I have removed my Clips craziness from consideration.

I think a first half bet on Minn is likely to get the money. Seems very unlikely that NO really gets in a fight in the first half tomorrow. If they do---would fire on Minn second half. NO is not winning both halves playing 5th in 7 and OT. GL

in similar sched. spots this year, on the 2nd of a b2b, the hornets have won both times in the 1h (49-44 at port on the 8th, 49-37 at jersey on the 12th), both times they lost the 2nd halves in those games. the first obv. lends more merit as they had a tough battle with lakers night before, whereas in the 2nd example, they coasted against philly the prior evening. im not so sure the 1h bet is a better one than the full game wager, but agree fully that hornets will not win both halves in this spot

for the 5 2Hs I'm looking at today, I really don't care what happens in the first half...heh.......

GL gentlemen.
