NBA Saturday Doozy: Lakers @ Wizards

Last night was down juice. Of course my three leans all covered pretty easy(well 2 of the 3). I don't have the want to play 4-5 games ever in all honesty any more on a particular night. For that, no regrets.

Situational handicapping at its finest. First of all I do understand this is Lakers 4/5 situation and so forth. Well, the best player on the floor took one of those off and the team as a whole kinda did Friday night in Indiana.

We all remember when the Wizards visited Staples earlier this year. Gilberst A Penis went off for 60 points. Kobias was brillinat in defeat as well with over 40 points and a nice all around game. It was the post game comments by Bryant that have fueled this personal rivalry. Don't think for a second the NBA doesn't love this. Two of their very best in a petty war. One just happens to be the best player and most clutch in league. He got showed up and home and he has a Jordanesque approach to these situations most times.

Nice setup tonight in Indiana. Lakers were caught looking ahead IMO. Other than a visit to the Garden this Wizards game was circled on their calenders for this trip. Phil Jackson is the greatest motivator of all time and will have this team ready. Kobias pulled a 7-23 tonight. That makes me feel better as I know where his head was. He is the type of player I do not worry about "trying to hard" tomorrow night. I am not saying he scores 40-50. I am saying he will have an unreal impact on the game. He may be all -around or he may be in a zone. Arenas will be big too. He loves challenges.

For this night I'll take # 24 and the boys to win. No Jamison for Wizards and all the motivation is Lakers way.

I knew what the play was before i opened this thread....Love it aswell...

wdup big al..man iam loving THIS PLAY..kobe was so freaking bitter that last game against gilbert...im probably gonna make it my biggest play of the season. good heads up..now if only sportsbook has it up..

lets do this shot doublem..

GL my man. I may add on this....to make it 3rd 7.5 bet of year..lol...gonna sleep on it tho.

:(

I was hoping it'd be Washington...or even the over...I know you love overs when it involves "America's team"...btw peep the thread I'm about to make

some of my quick thoughts on this game that i found ...

· Lakers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games as an underdog of 0.5-4.5.ffice:office" />
· Lakers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.
· Wizards are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
· Lakers are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Washington.
· Lakers are 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings.

Jamison is averaging 19.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 38.4 minutes in 44 starts this season
Washington went 0-5 the last time one of the Big Three was sidelined — when Butler was out with a thumb injury near the end of last season.
After Arenas scored a franchise-record 60 points to lead the Washington Wizards past the Los Angeles Lakers in December, Kobe Bryant sniffed, "He doesn't seem to have much of a conscience," and made reference to his counterpart "just chucking it up there."
Bryant also warned, "I'll be ready next time." Well, next time for two of the NBA's top four scorers comes Saturday night, when Arenas' Wizards host Bryant's Lakers.
Caron Butler, who played for the Lakers in 2004-05 and now is Arenas' teammate, has no doubt that Bryant is looking forward to this rematch.
"Kobe marks dates on his calendar and is secretly saying, 'That's my game right there,"' said Butler, who's headed to his first all-star appearance. "I'm almost positive this game is marked on his calendar."

Also, the lakers were -5 in LA w/o lamar odom vs the wiz w/ jamison in december. that would translate to lakers -2/1.5 on neutral, lakers +1/+1.5 at Wash. However, for this game Odom is playing and jamison is out. Looks like sure value to me and I am on it, too. :shake:

Big Al....
When first looking into this game I was on board with your points exactly...
The Wiz really struggled on Offensive end of the floor when they lost Jamison against the Pistons...
Lakers with revenge...
Kobe coming off a bad shooting night...

But what has kept me off so far and I am not trying to play devil's advocate here....

I think the Lakers are really bogged down right now without Luke Walton.
I never thought I would be saying that but look at the box score against the Wiz and the game that Walton had...
Lakers have had a tough go since losing him too.
Now of course Odom is back now and they didn't have him before vs. Wiz and one can't expect Arenas to go off like that again....
But with Odom feeling his way back, Lakers not a very good road team anyway, Wiz a very good home team, and "Space Cadet" Radmonovic taking the bulk of Walton's minutes in his absence I just can't pull the trigger.

I could see a very similar situation that you guys ran into in the Spurs/Suns the other day. Touch and go all game and then Wiz close game out on huge run as the Lakers have shown (Last Night Vs. Pacers, last weekend Vs. Spurs) that they are willing to concede and this game end up a 8-10 point final.

Hopefully I am wrong and Kobe will just be absolutely lights out for you.

Good Luck
Chad

gl. Can't believe your liking this a lot as well. With the lakers' recent woes, I think we're getting as very generous line with jamison sitting this one out,.

yup...also had this game on tap for tonite...

i was hoping LAL lost last nite and kobe was off...not concerned wit B2B here though...Wiz w/o a main weapon and playin Booth as sub

like that odom is back, gives wiz more to think about then last time played, he presents match up problems for them
good spot imo

+4.5 here

GL:)

i think the lakers and the over are the same play tonight....

that being said, the lakers obviously look solid IMO

Mamba = money tonite. im going to continue to fade washington until jamison is back.

nice call bar

love those circled plays...always scan the schedule weeks ahead for those just right situations and really fuckin hammer 'em.

:)

Good shit BAR. I'm usually not a tailcoat, but I liked your angle yesterday and gave it a go. If I ever bump into you remind me I owe you a beer or two. LOL. Good luck today in NBA and SB.
