NBA ML Dogs 2/22-2/23

redbearde

Pretty much a regular
My wife has an upper respiratory infection, and my son has the flu.

:hang:

Nets +181.3
Rocks +148.96
Raptors -6 (-102ish)

okay, I'm seriously considering the Bulls. Here are the Nuggets Road games this calendar year:

01/04/2008 at Minnesota W 118 - 107 W (-6) O (207)
01/07/2008 at Phoenix L 137 - 115 L (7½) O (227½)
01/14/2008 at Charlotte L 119 - 116 L (-4) O (209½)
01/15/2008 at Atlanta L 104 - 93 L (3) U (209½)
01/21/2008 at LA Lakers L 116 - 99 L (3) U (226)
01/27/2008 at Dallas L 90 - 85 W (10½)U (208½)
01/28/2008 at New Orleans L 117 - 93 L (9½) O (205)
01/30/2008 at Memphis W 106 - 102 W (-3) U (215½)
02/04/2008 at Portland W 105 - 103 W (4) O (204)
02/10/2008 at Cleveland W 113 - 83 W (-1) U (206½)
02/12/2008 at Miami W 114 - 113 L (-5½) O (211)
02/13/2008 at Orlando L 109 - 98 L (6) U (218½)

The wins come against Minny, Memphis, Portland (during the losing), Cleveland (which I bet on and got creamed), and Miami.

Over the season, Denver's road record is 11-14, and Chicago's home record is the same...11-14. Sure, Denver's a better team, typically, but now that they're rid of Ben Wallace, I have to believe that they'll be better. This is a read on the team sort of thing. ...it's why I bet on the Lakers the other night as a fade of the new Suns. And the Nuggets' defense isn't exactly profoundly impressive.

I'm kinda confused by why this line's skyrocketed, but I'll likely take the shot unless someone can convince me otherwise.

...interestingly...

Denver is 4-8 SU in its last 12 games when playing on the road against Chicago

currently I can get damned near 2:1 on the Bulls, and I think at worst this will be an outright shootout with the Bulls having a 50-50 shot.

or I could be completely wrong and the Nuggets will win by 50. But I don't think so...

oh, and I'm not particularly concerned about whether or not the new acquisitions will play tonight. If anything, it should be a motivation for the current guys to compete for their minutes.

No Joe Smith hurts in the short term. Going relatively small should work fairly well against the Nuggets, anyway. .......not sure how Tyrus will react to starting at center.

Deng played last game and had 13pts in 19 minutes. That's pretty good.

On the off chance Gooden and Hughes CAN play tonight...well.........I still like the chances at 2:1.

No Wizards+ against a skeleton crew?

no.

think about what that means. Lebron won't sit down tonight. Hughes won't be tossing up his stupid behind the ass 3pt shots. Wizards are on a horrible losing skid (only win in the last few weeks was against the Clippers just before the ASG).

01/30/2008 at Toronto L 122 - 83 L (11) O (191½)
02/01/2008 vs Utah L 96 - 87 L (5½) U (205½)
02/03/2008 vs LA Lakers L 103 - 91 L (4) U (204)
02/05/2008 at Philadelphia L 101 - 96 L (-2) O (190)
02/06/2008 vs San Antonio L 85 - 77 L (7) U (181½)
02/08/2008 at Denver L 111 - 100 L (10½) O (209)
02/10/2008 at Phoenix L 108 - 107 W (11) O (210)
02/11/2008 at Golden State L 120 - 117 W (11½) O (215½)
02/13/2008 at LA Clippers W 91 - 89 W (3½) U (192½)
02/19/2008 vs New York L 113 - 100 L (-5½) O (194)

I'm not betting a team that won't be able to stop Lebron ALL NIGHT (they really don't have any sort of lebron defensive stopper).

also

they can't seem to beat anyone on the road except Boston at any point recently.....again, with the sole exception of the Clippers who just wanted to get to the bahamas.
01/15/2008 at New York L 105 - 93 L (-2) O (190)
01/23/2008 at Cleveland L 121 - 85 L (4½) O (188½)
01/27/2008 at Milwaukee L 105 - 102 L (-3) O (193)
01/30/2008 at Toronto L 122 - 83 L (11) O (191½)
02/05/2008 at Philadelphia L 101 - 96 L (-2) O (190)
02/08/2008 at Denver L 111 - 100 L (10½) O (209)
02/10/2008 at Phoenix L 108 - 107 W (11) O (210)
02/11/2008 at Golden State L 120 - 117 W (11½) O (215½)
02/13/2008 at LA Clippers W 91 - 89 W (3½) U (192½)

so no.......I'm not interested in fading the short-handed Cavs. If this was the last of a 4th in 5...maybe. I might even consider playing a 2H bet. But....no. No ML for me on this one.

GL if you take it.

honestly...I was considering betting the Cavs chalk.......not going to do it, but THAT was the question in my mind. ...not taking the Wizdog.

looks solid as always red:shake:

i see no reason to take the hottest team in the nba at + money tonight, gotta agree with you there.
even in nawleans and how well theyve been playing right now...
should be a great one to watch. wish we werent stuck with wiz/cavs

love portland as well, a fishy line though at -2.
how can anyone NOT love portland at -2.

gl today:cheers:

I think it's the ol "no sweeps in home and home" idea.

fishy lines don't usually smell so bad to me........I pretty much don't believe in traps. It's just harder to win on the road than some of us like to think.

I can tell I'm tired and making bad decisions......I'm about to play more and have the biggest card I've had all year. It's real tough to pick and choose the best one or 3, tho.

Celtics +107.8
Bulls +190
Nets +173.99 (clicked wrong thing and had to buy off part at a small loss, alas)
Rocks +148.96
Raptors -6 (-102ish)
Trailblazers -122

I shall now go play video game football or something so I don't throw any more money out tonight....

looks like sour face grimace plus the whining vince carter is questionable

maybe that's a good thing .

new jersey could pull this one out . good luck 'bearde .

super dynamo dont touch the hot skillet on the stovetop or it will
burn your fingers and it will hurt rockets are extremely focused and playing well .

nawlins can put dirt in your teeth and make your family picture come out
bad as your smile will defintely be compromised .

they laid an egg against a focused warrior squad not too long ago though .

but if the price says you gotta jump hold your nose and make a splash .
it might not be pretty like a triple lindy off the highboard but the rockets
at nice value shouldnt make you scared to dive in.....

traded players play during this game ?

does this matchup warrant an under play here ? seeing 191 .

nawlins games have gone over 7 of 10 . but look at some of the competition .
mil/mem/pho/utah/sac/gs/

they also played dallas who has decent defense and went over .
games gainst chicago and san antonio went under .

picking the lint out of my bellybutton as i look at this one .

but i defintely wont smell it . no way . it's like chernobyl . bad .

hope the wife and kid feel better and get well soon .

and if this is your biggest card of the year i hope you have your biggest
winning day of the year............:tiphat:

thanks spock. yeah, I do like these, and I would prefer RJ taking 30 shots and hitting 15 to VC taking 40 shots and hitting 15...

............which one is grimace?

:36_11_6:

Marcus Williams is an xfactor, hopefully he take the momentum from last game and build on it tonight, espacially if VC is out.

You got yourself a huge card tonight Red, hopefully those ML Dogs pay off for you. I'll probably be on Portland as well. BOL Tonight Red

I assume Gooden & Hughes won't play - sure sounds like none of the other traded players will. If he does play, that'd be a good thing, I think.

Mike Miller....I dunno.

GL Red, I really like the Raps tonight aswell.

They have played studly as of late, and well the knicks are just the knicks.

that's pretty much how I'm thinking about it. Hate to lay chalk on the road, but, well, ........I expect to hear much FIRE ISAIAH! tonight......

:shake:

Boston managed to shoot like absolute shit with a ton of wide-open looks. THAT was something I didn't expect. They did hold the Suns to 85, and, going forward, if you told me the Suns would score no more than 85, I'd fade them every fucking game.

I did catch the Warriors 2H. So I mad enough for dinner yesterday. ...not enough to cover the flu medicine, but it's something. and I didn't lose 10 top tier flu medicine copays, so that's something.

only one for today.

76ers +115.64

wheeee....
