NBA ML dogs 1.28

redbearde

Pretty much a regular
ML dogs:62-104, 37.35%, +10.01 units
Spreads: 96-99-11, 46.6%, +1.76 units

Bullets -5 (-110)

I'm a fan of fading the Celtics. If the bullets have an off-shooting night, then this may well lose. But if you like th Celtics, take them ML...don't take points.

On to the MLs.

I have an eye on

Lakers
Pacers

Pacers@Pistons

Last time these two played (Dec 29), the stones were favored by 7, and they lost by 1. I expect to have over 250...more likely 270 or so. And for that number, I will be delighted to take the Pacers. Indy's been starting slow and then finishing strong as all hell. They were even down by 20 to the Heat a couple nights ago and still managed a win in OT (sent to OT by a 3 from WADE - not the greatest from the arc).

Of note:
Indiana is 4-1-1 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Detroit
Indiana is 3-6 SU in its last 9 games when playing Detroit
Detroit is 5-11 ATS in its last 16 games
Detroit is 1-8 ATS in its last 9 games at home
Detroit is 2-6 SU in its last 8 games at home

Indiana won the last 2 meetings - the only ones this season.

I'm anxiously awaiting BAR's opinion on this game...but if the number gets to where I think it will, this is a game I'll play.

:shake:

indy line is up and i think it shows +7....

they alwys have classic battles...will be good game

how does Det respond to being whip by Agent 0 last time out???

Spurs @ Lakers

I think this will be an unpopular opinion. However, I'll repeat that the Spurs are not the Spurs of years' past. Now, they are doing better on the road than they have been at home. But still. Shooting percentages are down. They're a half step slower on the drive to the hoop. Timmy's still great, but he's a half-step slow as well. And he doesn't always finish his FTs on his toes...

The Lakers are off a Loss to the kittens at home. I smell rebound. I also think Odom will get back into the fray more and more. And the Spurs don't give the matchup problems at Forward that the kittens do...

of note:
Lakers won the last two matchups (only ones this season)
LA Lakers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games at home
LA Lakers are 6-1 SU in their last 7 games at home
San Antonio is 2-5 ATS in its last 7 games

otoh,
San Antonio is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games
San Antonio is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games on the road
San Antonio is 7-3 SU in their last 10 games when playing LA Lakers

opinions?

I wouldn't call it a whipping...I think the Bullets.......outlasted...the pistons. Which is a different sort of animal to me from getting one's ass handed to him. It was a close game that came down to last minute play, and the wizards hit a couple shots that the pistons didn't.

I saw Indy +7 at thegreek. I don't think I'll get +300 ML, but I think over 250 strikes me as likely, and at those odds, I'll absolutely play this one.

'an_horse'

thanks OSO....I'll need it. through an unfortunate(fortunate if I win I guess) glitch, 5dimes told me 3 times that the wager was not placed, yet it was placed.

So I have 4 units on this fucking bet. not just 1.

Whoops.

Also, I have Suns -5.5 (-108)

If you like the suns today, and you can find a line, get it now. The juice just went astronomical (-113) at matchbook, and that sometimes indicates another line move is coming...and it just went to 5.5 from 5.

Last report I read was that Lebron isn't sure about his status for today. So either he's fine and it's a shill game the Cavs are playing with the injury report (hoping the Suns sit someone?), or he's not so sure he'll play.

saw the suns at -5 and i like it...even at your number

lakeshow has been playing well as of late and think the points at home are a comfort zone

NYK have been on a tear themselves and the line would indicate that they may take this contest as well

celtics can surprise...be it an unexpected win...or more likely a blown 15 point lead late...

I'm looking at the Knicks now. Not sure the Bucks ought to be favored, but pinny has them that way...

Pinny = Bucks -1 (-107)
Match= Knicks -1.5 (+111)

????????????????????

I'm not sure I'd call 2-3 last five being on a tear, but the Knicks have been playing better recently. Curry has been upgraded to probable for this game, and the Bucks' recent performances are less than stellar...

of note:
New York is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games
New York is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games on the road
New York is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games when playing on the road against Milwaukee
Milwaukee is 0-5 SU in its last 5 games
Milwaukee is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games at home

If I can get any sort of ML dog on the Knicks, I'll play that. Last time they played (Dec 9), the Knicks beat the bucks 115-107 as 2.5 pt favorites.

opinions?

redbearde when I saw the line on DET-IND I liked it immediately and I knew you were going to post it as a play, or at least a lean. The new Indy look surely gave them the swing I had hoped for (riding them in straight games now), and this line is a tad exaggerated if you ask me. Pacers are b2b that's a fact, but when you have a newly found chemistry in the team fatigue is a non factor. And these guys are connecting on all levels now.

I'll look into it a bit deeper now.

:shake:

Indiana +315

it's 325 at matchbook now...I honestly don't consider fatigue at this point in the season...november december, maybe it has an effect especially on old teams. Not now. Now they're in game shape. Except Shaq, of course.

I honestly think getting 3:1 here is outrageous.

Satyr, what do you think of the Spurs/Lakeshow today?

it's taking matchbook a while to catch up with the rest of creation on the Spurs/Lakers game...

still -3 (-101) if you like the spurs.

Public will be banging the Suns and Bullets with both fists today. I like the Cavs and the C's. Not easy betting the C's, but they are gonna win one soon and they catch the Wiz off a big win in Detroit. Wiz recently beat the C's in OT at home by 5... I think they were close to a DD favorite in that one.

I like the Bucks chances today. Poss return of Willams and they appear to be a motivated group from what I gathered from the paper.

I made the Spurs a 1.5 point favorite so I lean the LAKERS ML.

Good luck red.

Spurs-Lakers, I wrote in the other thread agreeing with the man how Spurs seem non interested in issues like revenge, stepping up huge, etc...They're playing well at times, enough to stay close to the top, but they're not breaking legs and arms to make a statement or something. It can be explained rather easily, the backbone of the team are still the same from 3,4 years ago. They're not necessarily old, but experienced and focused on post-season mostly. Having said that, Lakers are dogs? I have to research the game, I'll let you know what I played.

Initial lean are the Lakers of course.

good to hear bro. I don't think they're disinterested, but they certainly aren't playing as tough as they used to..

I think that's going to change in the playoffs. Btw, can you do me a favor? change my CUT to "Violent Mullet Remover". Thanks :D.

If you mean change the line just below your userid, you'll have to talk to fondy about that. I have very limited super powers.........and I'm about to walk out the door. Church was canceled due to weather this morning, so OF COURSE my wife wants to drive up the mountain to see her grandparents...

Lakers +141

I firmly believe this will go up, but I have to leave now. And matchbook doesn't work on my phone. I gotta find one that has the power to run java applications...

to recap the day's events...

Bullets -5 (-110) 4 units due to a 5dimes glitch
Suns -5.5 (-108)
Pacers +315
Lakers +141

these look good to me.

I hope I'm not completely wrong...

I did. the Suns won handily, and the snow was beautiful.

Unfortuantely, the Lakers gave me a moosing up the ass...

I was on the other side and I feel for you man, insane game by all means.

Ok let's hit with the Pacers now ;). :shake:
