NBA Injuries and Issues for Dec 1

redbearde

Pretty much a regular
Jermaine O'Neal surprised the world, played on Friday, and motherFUCKED my over. Eat shit and die, Jermaine. Anyone else noticed that without him the Pacers are 5-1...? He slows them down, he likes to sit on the floor instead of get back on defense, and his bad knee makes him suck more than a little.

damnit...

Raptors @ Bullets

TJ Ford came off the bench, but he did play for 17 minutes. He had 2pts and 6 assists. Calderon started, and he managed 10pts and 11 assists.

Calderon came off the Bench for 24pts on 9 of 14 from the field.

Bargnani started.

Bosh DNP. He's questionable for tomorrow. I've also seen a "doubtful", but that's the sort of thing that strikes me as someone sniffing that rather than having actual info.

In any event, the Raptors belief in their depth seems to be reasonable - the incessant line-up jumbling doesn't seem to be hurting them all that much recently.

I don't see any news on the Bullets, really.

The total has gone OVER in 4 of Toronto's last 6 games on the road
The total has gone OVER in 5 of Toronto's last 5 games when playing Washington
The total has gone OVER in 4 of Toronto's last 5 games when playing on the road against Washington
The total has gone OVER in 4 of Washington's last 5 games at home

Toronto leads the league in free throw percentage with 83.9.
Toronto allows the third most three points made in the league with 7.8 per game.
Washington allows the most three points made in the league with 8.7 per game.

And unfortunately, I have to go to sleep now, so I'm done til I get to this again tomorrow afternoon. Anyone feel free to update with injuries.

please.

:)

I swapped a gun for a lesser gun and $450. Plus I got $20 for a righty holster I can't use....and it was worth $8 to get in, I guess.

I observed several gun show private transfers between individuals (completely legal, btw) and imagined Killa's reaction to seeing each of them, and it entertained me during the times when no one was interested in my 1911. heh.

Looks like Vince Carter is going to keep coming off the bench.

http://www.nypost.com/seven/12012007/sports/nets/nets_goal__start_feeling_at_home_820991.htm

Frank said Carter would be fresher playing with the second unit in the second quarter after coming off the bench - and entering in the middle of the first quarter as opposed to starting the game and playing 15 consecutive minutes like normal. So he would start a lineup of Jason Kidd, Antoine Wright, Richard Jefferson, Malik Allen and Jason Collins.

Whether Carter starts, comes off the bench (as he did for three games while strengthening his ankle - all victories - before a lineup juggle in a loss) or parachutes in during the third quarter, the Nets are anxious to reverse alarming, though familiar, trends. They are 7-8. For five straight years, their 15-game starts have stunk: 6-9 last season, 7-8 before that, 3-12 and 7-8.

Tony Allen hopes to play on Sunday for the Celtics.

"It's getting better," said Allen, who is averaging 3.6 points per game. "But I'm still sore. I already got one bad wheel [left knee], so I don't want to go out there and be detrimental to my team."

hmm...he sits down and the Celtics are incredible....hmmmmm....

still, for long term hopes, the Cs definitely need some depth at G.

Afflalo is averaging 3.5 Hunter is averaging 1.0 ppg sorry but when I think of solid benches .. this isnt one of them.

brian, I don't really want to argue your opinion of the pistons' depth. You enjoy those arguments. I don't. If you want to think the pistons don't have depth at guard, you go right ahead.

Its not an argument its a discussion board. I am just saying when a guy is averaging 3 ppg I dont look at him and say oh he adds depth. Then every team would have it. The pistons first 7 are great.. besides that I wouldnt rely on much and ill say that in the next 2 minutes Ill see a comment from bar saying how good amir johnson is

Minnesota @ Memphis

Minny sucks.

Minny just got beat down at home in the 4thQ last night, but they did manage to cover.
Minny goes home after tonight.
Minny has been a 1H team that folds it up in the 3rd this year. They might as well not show up for the 4th Q tonight.

Memphis hasn't played since losing at Toronto on Wednesday.

Minnesota has the third worst field goal percentage against allowing 46.8.
Memphis has the third worst defence in the league, allowing 107.2 points per game.
Memphis has the worst field goal percentage against in the league at 47.8.

This game should be a hilarious exercise in no defense. Unfortunately, there's a question about whether these offenses can or will take advantage.

Darko Milicic is a gametime decision.

http://www.thememphisedge.com/2007/11/30/nov-30-darko’s-workout-assures-return/

"It’s fine," Milicic said. "My conditioning feels good. I’m ready."

Pau Gasol is looking to step up his play.

wtf does that mean? Play better? okay. do that, dumbass.

Dallas @ New Orleans

Mavs are on a 3rd in 4. That shouldn't matter.
Hornets are on a B2B after 3 days off. Again, shouldn't matter.
Mavs start a 3-game road trip tonight.
Hornets were at Atlanta last night, and they don't have to travel until the 12th.
Mavs get to brutally sodomize the Bulls on Monday.
Hornets get a few days off til they host the Pistons (with no depth) on Wednesday.

Pistons @ Bucks

As we all just learned, abcs thinks the Pistons have laughable depth. He might even be "laughing his fucking ass off" over it.
:shake:

The Bucks managed to lose to the Knicks last night.
Detroit beat the Cavs like they were the knicks on the 28th.
Pistons start a 4 in 5 tonight. Tomorrow they are at home for a moment to Jersey - it's a Jersey upset opportunity.

Bucks are in a shitty spot tonight. They were

AT Atlanta Wednesday
AT NY Knicks Friday
HOME vs Detroit tonight

and then they leave for a 5 game road trip starting in LA on Tuesday.

The travel, travel, home, travel, travel intrigues me, but they do get two days off after tonight.

Bucks have to face a great defense tonight after re-defining ineptitude late in the 4th yesterday. They've got to be having a tough time.....oh God...I just realized....does Yi get to face Sheed 1 on 1...?

Pistons sure seem pretty tasty to me...

Charlotte @ Boston

Bobkitties are off a disappointing last second loss to Boston (see Killa's thread) and a crushing loss at Miami.

Chicago is off an actual win over Atlanta. Atlanta played worse than I've ever seen them, and for the most part, the bulls weren't much better (30-33 at the half) but at least in the 3rd Q the Bulls really showed some life, played defense, benched Kirk, and they scored more in the 3rd than they did in the 1H.

I wouldn't jump on the 'chicago's turned the corner' bandwagon yet, but the Bobcats are certainly a bunch that is asking for another road loss....that's for sure.

Both teams should be well rested as neither has played since the 27th.

Bulls have a day off tomorrow, and then they get sodomized by the Mavs on Monday.
Bobcats have a day off tomorrow, and then they go to Toronto.

Charlotte is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games

Bobcats are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog.

total at 182-183...? heh...85-76 final score. hahahhaa.

Houston @ Sacramento

Houston played at Phoenix Wednesday and at Golden St on Thursday. Now they go to Sacramento.

Kings haven't played since they lost to GSW on Wednesday. It's hard for most of the league to play in SacK. Except for GSW......

RonRon left the team on Thursday to go be with his daughter, but he is back with the team now. He should be playing tonight.

http://www.sacbee.com/static/weblogs/sports/kings/archives/009389.html

Kenny Thomas sat out on Wednesday with a virus. He's questionable tonight. Kings backers will need him to beat Yao about the head and face. Several times.

Kings have 2 days off after tonight.
Houston goes home after tonight, and 3 days from now they have a home game vs Memphis. After running all night Wednesday and Thursday, I think Houston may still face some lingering fatigue...especially in the 2H.

Rockets are 10-23 ATS in their last 33 games overall.
Rockets are 4-12 ATS in their last 16 road games.
Rockets are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games as a favorite.

Kings are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 2 days rest.

Kings are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games.
Kings are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a home underdog.
Kings are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
Kings are 5-3 SU at home this season.

Rockets are 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Sacramento.
Road team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.

Houston is third in rebounds in the league at 44.5.
Houston is second in three points made allowed in the league with 5.0 per game.
Sacramento has the third best free throw percentage in the league at 80.9.
Sacramento has the third worst rebounds in the league at 39.4.
Sacramento is second worst in field goal percentage against in the league at 46.8.

Tyson Chandler literally got his teeth knocked out last night

But expected to start tonight. Nawlins haven't beaten in the Mavs in 8 1/2 years lmao.

Love your work as always RB, cheers.

yeah, that's light chalk given the history, but the Mavs haven't been all that great recently. Winning some, sure. But they also had a 3 game losing streak...to Indiana, Milwaukee, and Washignton...

hahaha...

Am on Sac plus the points. Mickey Moore is producing now. If he had not fouled out last game?

from Friday:

Cleveland Cavaliers will be without LeBron James tonight in Toronto

Posted by Branson Wright November 30, 2007 17:45PM

TORONTO - LeBron James says he will not play tonight when the Cavaliers take on the Toronto Raptors.
James suffered a sprain of the left index finger during Wednesday's game in Detroit and did not play in the second half. He attended the team shootaround this morning, but did not participate.
His status for Sunday's game in Boston remains uncertain.
- Branson Wright
