My Saturday Card 11/01

First time posting picks. I have followed this site over the last 2-1/2 seasons and figured, what the hell. Best site on the web. Picks, politics, and porn. What else can a man ask for? I have the lube, but please be gentle.

VIRGINIA-(-1) Miami will have their time. They picked up a great recruit class last year. One that could arguably be considered the best defensive class in the nation. With that said, they are young. Watch out over the next couple of years. Just not this year. Virginia destroyed Miami in the last game played in the bowl and I do not see it being any different here. Virginia by 14.

WAKE- (-6.5*) Too much discipline. They are not flashy, but they are good. A slew of seniors that have been in the system for a long time. Head Coaching edge goes to Wake, but I like what Cuncliffe is doing. We will see as he builds his program. I must say it will be odd to consider Duke a powerhouse in the ACC, but the way this conference has played this year, it would not be a stretch.

South Carolina- (-6) This game has me a little worried. I love the So Car defense matchup against an dismal Tenn offense. Fat Phil is making his farewell tour and Spurrier may be the one that finally puts the Tenn alum over the edge to put up the cash. Bye-Bye Phil.

UAB- (+8.5) I know what you are thinking. WTF. Well, this is a border war. Fletcher dismantled the Blazers last year, but one thing is missing this year. A passing game. This game is very similar to the AL/MS high school all-star game, in which AL typically dominates. Giving me 8.5 points in a rivalry game, I'll bite.

I have others, but do not feel I can add any other comment that has'nt been discussed already. Comments welcome. And thanks for doing what you all do. Best of Luck.

Wondered when i would see someone point out the major revenge angle for miamifl and the first guy i see do it is on virginia side. hehe. Cavs are Playing good ball right now. I think the uab-smiss rivalry is bigger in alabama than the auburn/bama rivalry ... well maybe not.

Like Scary a little bit too, but the visitor is 10-0-1 ATS in that series and while I'm not a trend bettor, that's one trend I decided I didn't want to get in front of.

Thanks VK There is nothing in this state as big as AL/AU. There are no major sports teams in the state, so that is the GAME. But for a smaller clash of teams, it is still a big rivalry. Both recruit hard in each others territories and this can put a recruit over the top. Both programs are down, but they still play hard week in/out. I do not think it will be any different here. Should be a good game to watch.

I saw that too. I am not a trend bettor either, but I can't fault people for taking that approach. It is way too deep into the trend to get on the wagon. I just have no confidence with Tenn. Spurrier in the past has been a thorn in Phillsbury dough boys side. I have watched both play and as long as the LSU middle line ref is not playing, they may be able to score from the 5. The fans have given up on Tenn., and that has to be a little discouraging to the players. The coach is going to get fired, you lose every week, you are dead last in the conference and probably going to get beat by Vandy. Man this has been a bad year for the Vols.

My nuts just dropped so I'm posting these off what I got Tuesday night through a local. I will take it as lucky to get it in early. Most of the picks on my full card have moved. Some to the good, some to the bad. These are a few of the picks I haven't seen posted through everyones thread.

I already have them at the same line. I do not like the GA defense. They allow teams to get back into games. GA offense can score and score fast. Stafford has a cannon for an arm. But they have not seen the speed that will be on this field while they are on defense. They will not be able to lay back and allow FL to get back into this game. FL will take the lead and never look back. This is one team I have watched that is not afraid to keep their foot on the gas. Meyer does not mind running the score up, and I can see him doing it here. I could care less about the endzone dance. This is just a ploy for ESPN to promote this game.

Same here. Didn't even bother with pros. I should have. Would have got back some. These posted plays were very indicative of my full card. Started off bad and finished worse with my late additions. I have to go back a figure what I'm doing wrong. Added ND, 4 straight fade routes by Pitt. Same fucking play. Last one on 4 and goal from 6, catch sends it to OT. This tells you how my day was. Lot of heart ake. My Noles fumble going into the endzone. Crushed me. Virginia leads the whole game, Miami comes back, forces OT and capitalizes. Don't know if UAB dressed the chearleaders or what, but you and I could have done a better job. Wake wins in probably their highest point output on the year, but can't stop Duke from scoring with them. Hell, their d-fense is their strong suit. And on and on and on and on. There is always next week. At least I keep telling myself that.

Yeah Wake defense giving up 30.......I'm shocked. One of the biggest surprises of the day.

Duke has shown they know how to get into some high scoring affairs though and change the pace of the game. Ppl have gotten burnt betting unders with them.

Fat Phil did it to me again. Took the over and the 2 pt conversion attempts are killing me. That is two weeks in a row. I do not know what he is thinking. It has taken him 3 quarters to score both times and he thinks he is going to stick it in for 2. Screw that chicken fucker.

analyze but if it is just one bad week .... then it's just one bad week. We have a few of those over the course of the year and especially when we make our first plays post .... called the posting jinx.

i had wake as well .. very frustratng second half. Can't get the int until overtime when we dont want it hehe..

Virginia you were unfoprtunate , the fsu fumble was unfortunate as well. i wouldn't be too worried ....

I also had my worst weekend of the year by far; out of 14 or 15 weeks of college football, it can definitely happen. To make matters worse, I pulled a couple winners off my card fri nite/sat morn to add two losers...I guess I just hate money.
