USC transfer Moody to visit Texas, three others

Tuesday, August 21, 2007, 02:44 PM
Emmanuel Moody, the mercurial back from the Metroplex who announced plans to leave Southern Cal last week, is planning to visit Texas and three other schools as he tries to find a new home, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Moody, a Coppell High product, liked the Longhorns during his first time around the recruiting rodeo, committing to Texas in 2005 before changing his mind and going to USC instead.
Before visiting Texas, he plans to go to North Carolina and Florida. He also will visit Oklahoma State.

Horn going with the smart money.

Interesting to see Butch Davis in the running. But I gotta go with Okie Lite too.

Not sure how much you can put on this, but Moody's "final 5" were USC (obviously), Texas, A+M, Georgia Tech and Miami.

Im goin with OK State with UNC a close second. Butch Davis is a top notch recruiter and will probally do all he can to land this kid

Moody made initial contact with UT

Emmanuel Moody, the now former Southern Cal running back, did make contact with Texas about a possible transfer.
However, Texas coaches told Moody they could not speak with him until he received a release from the Trojans. There has been no contact since then.
Moody initially committed to Texas for the 2006 recruiting class, but took an unexpected visit to USC.
The Longhorns traditionally don’t take transfers from other schools.

Moody narrows list to two (no Texas)

ESPN reports Moody will either transfer to UNC or Florida. Not surprising given Butch Davis and Urban Meyer's respective reputations for wooing. UNC makes sense for playing time, but despite loads of talent UF has struggled to have a star (or even a sole starter) at RB. He could get to carry the load there too.

interesting about butch davis recruiting these top notch players. in years past UNC would take whoever was left over. I wonder if UNC will let him compromise their academic integrity in order for a turn around of their football team, because in order to be competitive in that conference they are going to have to recruit players that have no business being in a institution of that magnitude or for that matter even one of their branch campuses.

Florida "wins" (may not be a win after all) the sweepstakes.

Former Southern Cal running back Emmanuel Moody said Saturday that he has decided to wait until Monday to announce which school he is transferring to. Moody, however, has already started the process to enroll at Florida and he may be attending classes the same day he announces his new location.
