I like Hawks -7,5
Bobcats maybe without Wallace. Pisotns owned them for 3quarters (Det was 28 points up). Hawks after big win over Cavs

It is a sandwich spot that is clear. The problem is first that the Bobcats have their own look a head to a team the Bulls who they are 2-6 against thru 2006 and that this series has been fairly mild. Bobcats 4-0 at home last 10 and Atlanta 3-1 at home last 4. Now the Bobcats are a good first half team on the road and they surely have steam to let off so a first half bet might be more prudent. Waiting for ref's before I make a decision. Would also be looking at a second half under in this game. GL

Atlanta is in the dreaded, & I mean dreaded, Eastern Conf. Fav at home playing their 2nd game off a 4+ game road trip spot. 71% ATS losers the last 5 completed seasons (14-32-2). That's not mentioning they're playing their 5th in 7 days, with the World Champs look ahead (which out tops any possible look ahead CHA could have). Plus everyone just saw them beat the Cavs & their mighty ATS/SU streak of form.

This may be a stupid question but what are the numbers beside the games.

I am sorry.Forgot the (). Lets take the Nets/Raps game as an example. 100-103 is the score I got for the game. 203-199 is the range of the final score. The range is what I expect the final score to be at the end. I hope this clears it up and sorry I forgot to put the ()'s.

Makes sense thanks. :shake:

decided I'm definitely playing Bobcats. now just need to find the best way to approach this. Quotes all over of hawks saying how big that win was for them and you KNOW they want to play the C's esp with their confidence high. Don't forget: Atlanta thinks they can hang with Cs after 7 game series last yr AND the near buzzer beating loss earlier this season to them. Charlotte may have looked lost their first day, and they ertainly arent prepared yet, they have had a practice now and a game together. More importantly, the emotional aspects of changing teams is likely gone for them.

Trying to think if Atlanta is flat, will it show more on the defensive side/offensive side of the court. ATL TT under/Charlotte TT over?

storngly leaning to just going with 1st H/1st Q Charlotte as ATL has been comin to slow starts, and when one team is flat, it usually is shown early on- "come out" flat.

BC's trend certainly doesnt hurt the full game play. Maybe just keep it simple and play FG? hm

Boston single digits again, to a team that just got romped at home by Orlando without Howard? It's comical, I dunno wtf that team has to do to get the respect they deserve.

Nets are in a decent spot. We know how much Vinsanity gets up for these games at Toronto and it's quick revenge, both for him personally after the 0-13 debacle and the Nets after losing at home.

I would think Phoenix will own the paint and handle the Knicks, but they make it tough at 9.

I like Dallas at the short number at home. Denver is playing really well, but they've been fucking up some very bad teams. Dallas is quietly 11-2 last 13, with the two losses coming at Lakers and in that 2OT Spurs game. I think they deserve a little more respect than this. Seems a tad short.

Is Sacramento really favored by 4.5?

I guess Dallas is my favorite play on the board. I think they've just played two sluggish games vs. bad teams at home b/c they weren't up for them. They'll be up for this game and they should win by 5-10.

wow a killa sighting. good to see u back. any thoughts on this charlotte game?

also. kinda sucks

Wallace's father passes away

It's been a rough time personally for Gerald Wallace, and that might again impact his availability for a game this week.
Gerald lost his grandmother last week, causing him to miss the three-game road trip to Miami, New Orleans and Dallas.
Now I'm told his father has passed away. Services are Wednesday and Thursday in Alabama.
Bobcats spokesman B.J. Evans says Gerald might miss Tuesday's home game against the Chicago Bulls, as a result.

unfortunate for Wallace. Since this is a gambling forum though, even if he plays, got to imagine this as a distraction...

Charlotte is a pretty bad team, but I can't imagine taking Atlanta. Just not a strong situational spot at all.

and if you look at the teams Denver has beat the last few games its not impressive at all. :tiphat:

Not yet. Haven't even gotten paid yet. I get 2.3 million won in a few weeks, lol. They pay monthly.

Dallas seems like the right side just based on schedules alone. That every other day off routine can really build momentum. I still don't think they are that great of a team, but they've had zero adversity off the basketball court to deal with lately.

Refs in Atlanta
Brian Forte home favorites 5-4
Boland home favorites 5-6
M Smith aka (the destroyer) home favorites 2-10
Was honestly hoping to avoid involvement here but Smith is automatic involvement for me. Will probably play game and first half

copy and pasted this from hoopshype (the links don't work)
The Celtics' worst loss in the last 106 regular-season games was an 18-point home defeat against the Utah Jazz March 14. "They didn't win the game," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said yesterday, "they destroyed us. There's a difference." The Celtics (22-2) have a 37-5 mark in regular-season games since that 110-92 loss to the Jazz, their opponents tonight. "That's one game I remember they really beat us," captain Paul Pierce said. "Out of all of our losses, a lot of the losses we had a chance to win, but we just had no chance. That was one game they outplayed us, they outhustled us, they outexecuted us. We have our work cut out for us. They are a disciplined team, well coached." Boston Globe

Sloan also acknowledged that Williams is still struggling almost three weeks after returning for good from the sprained ankle. Williams is shooting 38.8 percent for the season, down from 50.7 percent last season. "Deron is not Deron Williams who we knew before he got hurt," Sloan said. "I can't do anything about that, except play him, let him get himself better. Obviously, everybody knows we need him to play at an extremely high level and he's struggling and we'll struggle some." interesting article (actually, its just a series of quotes from Q)

After all these years, Quentin Richardson is expected to play Monday against the Suns in Phoenix for the first time since he was traded for Kurt Thomas after the 2004-05 season.
You may recall that team started the season 31-4 en route to an NBA-best 62-20 record - despite having the youngest roster in the league.

Almost immediately, the Suns began tinkering with that club, trading Richardson and then sending Joe Johnson to Atlanta in a sign-and-trade.
Some deals made sense at the time. Some didn't.
We wondered if Richardson ever thinks about what might have been had the Suns kept that 2004-05 core together and let it ride.

We only had to ask once:
"The most amazing thing is that most of us are still tight to this day. Every time we go to Atlanta, I go over to Joe's house. When they're in New York, he'll come hang out. In the summer, I'll go to Atlanta. Joe will come to Chicago. We'll see Shawn (Marion) all summer, and we'll hang out with Stat (Amaré Stoudemire). No matter where we are, we always talk about that - 'Why did they have to do what they did?' "
He wasn't done:

• "If you look at it, we were really just a healthy Joe Johnson away from being able to compete with San Antonio. It's unfortunate, but sometimes that's the way the NBA is. They think they have to do this or that to fix something, when the reality is if you give us another one or two or three years with our same core group of guys, we would have won a championship."

• "The most frustrating part about it all, when you've been around the league you know when you have a special group of guys with that blend of talent and the kind of egos that allowed it to work, allowed everybody to be who they were. You don't come across that a lot."

• "You get teams with a lot of talent, but you don't have guys who are willing to sacrifice and are willing to say, 'OK, we'll take the back seat.' Guys who really know what it takes to win."

• "Everybody is making money and having good careers, but at the same time we all realize and acknowledge that we had something pretty good. Even from coach. We had a great coach that everybody got along with. You never get that - all the players on the same page and the coach likes everybody and everybody likes the coach. We had a rare thing, and it was pretty much dismantled in the snap of a finger."

• "The way it unraveled, nobody expected. It would have been different if we weren't getting along or we weren't having success and we had a clue that it was coming. We were ready to go right back at it again, then boom, it just exploded, and it has been one piece after another since then."

• "I mean, dead serious, we still talk about it till this day because we had a great time. We loved the fans, loved being here, and we had a great group that all hung out together. That (62 wins) is the result you get. I definitely, in my heart of hearts, know we would have won it if we had a couple years."

• "I was especially disappointed about Joe. I know who Joe is, and the way they tried to portray how everything came down. . . . I watched the game when he came back here when they were booing him. Anybody who knows how Joe is, they know he won't say anything controversial. He just took it with a grain of salt and played. But anybody that knows him, knows the spin that was put on it, it was never like that."

• "The whole season long, they told him he's the top priority in the off-season. Then he's not the top priority. Then they tell him to go get a new deal. They signed Raja Bell before they got him signed, so if he's the top priority, why are any moves being made before he's taken care of?"

• "Joe was important. He was our backup point guard, too. People forget that, and they're still looking for a backup point guard."

• "They said he was going for the money. Yeah, after you stick it to him once, twice - man, you still think he's coming back here? Joe did not want to leave. But that's the business part. They have to cover their own butts so the fans won't say, 'You ruined our team.' In actuality, they did."

Have played Boston minus 9, Bobcats plus 5 first half and Cleveland State first half plus 7. so far. Will be adding another play later on Boston. Adding Utah first half plus 5. Still have a bet coming there. Boston minus 2 fourth quarter.

.

Nuggets having won 4 of the last 5 could be the reason for the short line, paired with the perception that the Mavs aren't as good without Howard. I tend to agree that the Mavs are the play here too, as there is also the revenge angle working in their favor. I do think that the Mavs have taken quite a step back defensively. They squeeked out 2 home wins vs the Thunder & Cats despite being outrebounded in both. Though I would have set this total around 206, I still think it has a solid chance of sailing over.

Personally I think the Suns have no business laying 9 pts. They are 5-5 last 10, 7-5 @ home this season. They've allowed 100+ in the past 9, & IMO will continue to suffer defensively without Diaw/Bell. I think it's comical that Boston tends to be smaller faves than the Suns. Leans to Knicks+8.5, team o55 1sth, & 1sth over 114.5. Last 2 Suns games at home totaled 121 & 138 1sth pts.'an_horse'

Knicks are probably right. They can cover on their own. Amare and Nash can help out. Tough to buck. Just wish they had not beaten Kings by so much. Would have been an easy, easy play.

3rd?

I know this is a daily thread about games but I don't want to start a new thread with this question if I don't need to.

Does anybody know of any sites that have a breakdown of 1st half and 2nd half box scores? I know they have the both halves together.

or even if they have quarter breakdowns.

Adding Dallas minus 1.5. This actually annoys me because I wanted to play the other side but just kept finding angles. Not sure of the true worth of these angles but angles are what I do.
J have fourth listed above. Third will probably work too. Not seeing a good second half for Utah.

likely just gonna sit this 1st H out in boston. Actually expecting boston to take this 1st H and think a 1st H/2nd H chase may be in order, but I'll just wait for 2nd H
