First bet was KC minus 24. 3 game series and the next 2 going for Seattle assuming regular rotation are Iwakuma and Paxton. Sunday Shields went 8 and Felix went 4. KC already had a huge pen edge. Mauer at home last 4 starts has been absurdly bad. 17.2 innings 17 runs. Ventura first start 5.2 innings 3 k's 2 walks 86 efficient pitches playing for a team that is still fighting.

First did you guys see the TV ratings in the Houston area for their game @ Anaheim on Sat. Sept. 14th ? They averaged 915 viewers for the broadcast...R U Serious ?

Second, how retarded would it be if there is a playoff to the playoff game ? Simply was a horrendous decision to allow a one game playoff into the postseason in the first place.

Lean Estrada first 5. Lean Roark first 5. Estrada on better rest. 8 innings with Hernandez about a 5.14 ERA not good though but fairly short sample. Still thinking.
 
Want to dog it today. Good day for Reds but Harang great history and Mets playing very hard. Reds pitcher very good off 6 days rest. Just very uncertain. Mets and Nationals both playing with real revenge???
 
A's not similar I think. Very personal with Angels. Of course that goes both ways.

I kind of want to bet Houston, but I'm kind of rooting against Texas right now, so bad combo and bad gambling karma. Just think that Houston battled pretty well all weekend despite the sweep in Cleveland, and the price is kind of obscene. And Holland hasn't really been himself lately. Think I talked myself into it.

I was originally opposed, but if you're going to have three divisions and a wild card, I've decided I like the format with the wild card play-in. Not only does it add interest to more markets, which I don't really think matters much, it tremendously adds to the incentive to win a division, and to clinch best record in league. Which I do think matters much.
 
I'd prefer two leagues, and one World Series, but there are too many teams and it's not 1950. Think four divisions total and four playoff teams total would still be pretty cool, but baseball would probably die a slow death if they went back to that.
 
Best guess Houston team total over might be good. Holland on 4 day rest again is not good but Houston starter really not playing well.
 
And yes. The incentive to win the division is big. It's really good for gambling purposes too because theoretically teams should have less games they take off mentally.
 
And unless they shorten the season, which MLB will never do, baseball has no time for one more week at the end to fit in a wild card round. They're pushing it as it is. March and November can be very terrible baseball months in the north.

Also like the one-game wild-card. Baseball is a rhythm game, so a bye for 4-5 days can be a disadvantage that it wouldn't be in another sport and effectively hurt a team as a reward for winning their division.
