Can't say I like this card too much. Small lean on the Wolves, because I think they need to get a W after few bad losses to direct WC playoff rivals.
But it's hard to lay point against Bulls in Chicago.

Took the Bucks +10 in advance of the clips trip home. Will still fade clips against Wiz with potential chase at Warriors. BAR has laid it all out, but gut says Clips don't cover tonight. Bet size with Wiz and potential chase TBD based on today's result.

wonder if suns will ho hum this game and just figure they can turn it on in 2nd half? philly 1st half maybe

okc over with horford out maybe

sac over maybe because they seem so disinterested in defense and shot pretty well last night

wonder what kind of form chicago is in currently…minn tempting but 3 in 4 and final of road trip

Could be. Small bet on Minn minus 2.5 for me so far.
Minn looking at 7 straight losses to a team that the Clippers beat at Chicago by 17. Minn playing to get back to 500. Chicago in a loss at home has only 1 loss where this point spread would matter. A 1 point home loss to Orlando.

Regarding the Suns---still thinking. They are certainly the better team and Philadelphia is deliberately tanking so reasonably sure they win but this is a role they have little experience in so not sure I want involvement yet.
Days seem to like Suns a bite and the under.
Played Hofstra first half in College

I can't take the Kings since Yag trade, so I will skip today, but I just think that no matter the outcome, Utah shouldn't lay 6 points against any team, regardless of their roster.

watched the kings last night….offense looked good but that may be the result of denvers indifference to playing d and just trying to outscore sac…lean sac and may play ml

I also like them. I just don't know how Pierce and KG will react off that Boston game...

last night won't affect kg one bit….he will play 100% every night regardless….only thing holding him back is his 38 year old body…paul may have a little hangover but honestly i think they both are old warriors that come to play every night….they are just simply getting old

Can you tell me a little about the guard play? I know they are clicking on offense I don't think they can or have interest in playing any defense?

Utah is not as high as Denver but are there any similarities?

Cousins is out tonight...

pg….thomas didn't shoot well but distributed the ball well and played most of the time….fredette was excellent off the bench in short minutes

sg…thorton shot well but that's all he did….mclemore was real good off the bench playing both ends of the floor and was the most impressive of the back court

i forgot that cousins was out….3rd game without him and obviously the stud so regression may be in order after everyone putting in effort in his absence for two games….thinking now

I think salt lake is like 4k' in elevation….not really sure how it impacts….seems like everyone talks more about denver where elevation is concerned but only 1k difference…i used to ski utah a lot and didn't really feel the effects till 7-8000 feet….gotta have some but not sure if it is significant….curios

Sacramento on a b2b in altitude. Not good

i haven't seen them much but their jump shots will be affected tonight

The travel to Utah is just not fun. I hear it's pretty far from the airport too. Not entirely sure

Appreciate the response....

a couple of Utah/sac thoughts..
sac has played a lot of games over the last 15 days or so.... B2b tonight after a run and gun game.
Jazz rested and finally have a healthy team that has a couple of capable bigs and certainly guards that can score.
No cousins leave kings very thin with legit big guys and no rim protector..
kings only know how to play one way...fast

dont have much faith in Utah coach..
Lean jazz half and game tt over

'Revenge' is the #1 most overrated capping angle...

Yes I know. But it's more than that. They're playing to be tied in the loss column for the division lead. And the raptors are the only team that has beat them this month. Just saying that the nets most likely won't be looking ahead to OKC.... Which prob would be the case here if Toronto wasn't in first place.

this is exciting

im surprised that KG is not out tonight... he really should be a given the night off, nets would be better off imo

Leaning Toronto. They were 9 pt favorites at home on 1/11. Two weeks later, and we have a 12 pt swing on the line? Brooklyn hot, but this game means just as much to Toronto as it does to Brooklyn. Brooklyn and their old legs are 2-6 SU on B2B. Add that DeRozen is OUT for Toronto, the emotional high of yesterdays win, OKC and Indy on tap, and I can see Brokelyn losing this one.

Brooklyn was on a the back end of a b2b ot game against the defending champs while raps were well rested, playing with a lot of confidence.

Definitely not the case here.

Back to back yes, but no starters played more than 25-27 mins and both teams are on 3 games in 4 nights, but Nets have way more depth to deal with it.

smh and green both compelling points….my main thought after watching nets last night is that they are going to have to be more functional than they were against the celts….our y league games were more organized…lol

granted the nets could get away with it vs the celts and that may have been their thought process but if they play the same game tonight raps will win straight up

very tough for me to lay points after watching the game last night

i'm not sure you tell garnett he is not playing….pretty sure he would simply say to kidd…."dude i'm playing"….and that would be that

the more i read and look the more i think i am going to play utah….i think i may have played them once this year

Lol not anymore. He's rested in many games so far including the one in Toronto after beating Miami.

please do not take last nights game into account when evaluating the nets. What you saw is not what the team has been about the past month. There was very little life, no ball movement at all in the 1h... Just total distraction. I love how Boston decided to do the tributes at the end of the first quarter lol. Totally screwed up the nets psyche

this is exciting

[h=2]TIMBERWOLVES AT BULLS, 8 P.M. ET[/h] January 27, 2014 · 7:27PM
TV: LeaguePass

  • Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich will not play again Monday because of his sore hamstring, missing his fourth straight game. Center Joakim Noah was ill Monday morning and will not play, although he did show up at the United Center. Taj Gibson will start in Noah’s place, producing the 18th different lineup for the Bulls in their 44th game of the season. The Bulls embark on a six-game road trip after Monday’s game and Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Hinrich will travel with the team.
  • Two rookies came up in conversation before the game. Bulls swingman Tony Snell was the seventh man for the Bulls against Charlotte Saturday, playing 25 minutes and getting nine points. He has played in 38 of 43 games and started 10 of them. Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau has a reputation that he does not enjoy playing rookies, but Snell has worked his way in on a team that probably needed him because of injuries. “His attitude and approach is what is necessary to be successful, ‘’ Thibodeau said. “He studies; he cares.” The other rookie is Minnesota forward Robbie Hummel, a local favorite in Chicago from his years playing at Valparaiso, Ind., in high school and then with nearby Purdue University. Hummel played his first year out of school in Europe. Hummel has appeared in 27 games with two starts with the Timberwolves and is averaging 2.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game, but is now on the bench because the Timberwolves have gotten fully healthy. “He has been really sound,’’ said Minnesota coach Rick Adelman. “But we have 15 guys and can only dress 13; somebody has to be inactive. But I would not have any hesitation to play him.”
  • This will be a game for fans to watch to see which team plays the way it wants. The Timberwolves rank second in the league in scoring with 106.8 points per game, and the Bulls rank second in points allowed with 92.9 points per game. “You have to be concerned about the fast break,” Thibodeau said. Watch also to see which team grabs the most rebounds, because the Timberwolves rank third in the league and the Bulls rank sixth.
  • Perhaps in light of the unique way the National Football League split the teams for the Pro Bowl Sunday, with a draft of eligible players rather than teams set by the conferences, Thibodeau was asked if the NBA should consider a change. At issue was the relative strength of the Western Conference in comparison to the weaker Eastern Conference. “It is the thing that makes the most sense. Sometimes one conference may appear to be slightly better than the other but last I checked the defending champion is from the East,” he said.

[h=2]CLIPPERS AT BUCKS, 8 P.M. ET[/h] January 27, 2014 · 7:26PM
TV: League Pass

  • Clippers coach Glenn “Doc” Rivers noted that guards Darren Collison and J.J. Redick will start, but he’ll watch them closely to see how they’re moving. Redick is bothered by a sore back and a sore right shoulder, and Collison is hampered by a sprained big toe on his left foot. “They’ll play,” Rivers said. “They’re not game(time) decisions, they’re in-game decisions — whether they can move and how they play. J.J.’s easy, because with a back and a shoulder it’s pretty obvious to see if he’s not moving. D.C.’s the hard one. He’s been limping around and playing well.”
  • Clippers guard Chris Paul had a strong workout before the game and is now shooting, but Rivers said there aren’t thoughts about moving up the timetable for his return from the shoulder injury that will keep him out for a 12th game tonight. “No one’s said that there are any changes as far as deadline or anything, but he feels great,” Rivers said. “I still think it’s (around) the all-star break or in that area. … The fact that he can run and do the conditioning is great, but other than that it still has to heal.” Rivers noted Paul’s return will be a medical decision made by the Clippers’ doctors. “I won’t have anything to do with that. I’m not a real doctor, as you know,” Rivers said.
  • The Bucks will be quite shorthanded tonight as guard O.J. Mayo and center Larry Sanders won’t dress because of illness. Both players missed the game last Wednesday with illness and then played Friday and Saturday. Bucks coach Larry Drew said guard Gary Neal would be a game-time decision with flu-like symptoms. Neal said in the locker room that he expected to dress. If Neal doesn’t dress, the Bucks will only have nine players in uniform. Forward Ekpe Udoh (ankle) and center Zaza Pachulia (broken right foot) also are out. Udoh sprained his left ankle Friday at Cleveland, and Pachulia has been out since Dec. 4, although he is making progress and hopes to be back within the next two weeks. Forward Carlos Delfino has been out all season following foot surgery.
  • After a 20-minute team meeting after their dismal loss on Saturday, the Bucks will start Brandon Knight and Giannis Antetokounmpo at guard, Erson Ilyasova and Khris Middleton at forward and John Henson at center. Miroslav Raduljica is the only big man available on the bench.
  • Having played at Marquette University, Rivers has a lot of fond memories in Milwaukee. The winter weather isn’t one of them. With a high temperature of minus-3 in Milwaukee on Monday, Rivers joked, “This would have been a day I would have loved going to class, walking across the campus and enjoying the cold weather.”

[h=2]RAPTORS AT NETS, 7:30 P.M. ET[/h] January 27, 2014 · 6:58PM
TV: League Pass

  • DeMar DeRozan will sit out with a sprained left foot. DeRozan has shined in the Raptors’ two previous games this season against the Nets, averaging 26.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Raptors coach Dwane Casey stressed that the Raptors would need a team effort to replace DeRozan’s production, although Terrence Ross, who scored 51 points on Saturday against the Clippers, could provide a huge lift.
  • Deron Williams will continue to come off the bench for the Nets. When it was mentioned that other stars like Paul Pierce and Dwyane Wade have done the same thing recently, Nets coach Jason Kidd said, “it’s the in thing.”
  • Kidd noted that the Nets needed to rebound well against the Raptors, who thrive on the offensive glass.

[h=2]HAWKS AT THUNDER, 8 P.M. ET[/h] January 27, 2014 · 6:53PM
TV: League Pass

  • The Hawks injury troubles continue, after losing leading scorer and rebounder Al Horford for the season earlier, Jeff Teague sprained his left ankle against Milwaukee Saturday and is out tonight. Rookie forward/center Pero Antic, who’s been getting substantial playing time in the rotation, is also out tonight after being diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right ankle last week.
  • Thunder superstar Kevin Durant says his right shoulder feels fine now. He sprained it last week against San Antonio, then sat out Friday’s game at Boston before coming back Saturday and laying a triple-double on Philadelphia. His shoulder has had another day of rest and Durant says he’s good to go tonight against Atlanta., “yeah I’m feeling pretty good now,” he said before the game.
  • Durant has strung together 10 straight games of at least 30 points. It’s the longest such streak in the NBA since Tracy McGrady put together 14 straight 30-point games in the 2002-03 season.
  • Speaking of streaking, Atlanta’s Kyle Korver has now made at least one 3-pointer in 112 straight games, an NBA record, and a mark Durant finds amazing, “I don’t think I could make a three in 10 straight games, his streak is, wow, unbelievable. But he just needs a split second to get it off and a little bit of space and he’s knockin’ it down. It’s gonna be hard to stop that streak.” For the record, KD has made a 3-point basket in his last six games and in nine of his last 10.
  • In an interesting quirk of timing the newly named Western Conference (Durant) and Eastern Conference (Paul Milsap) Players of the Week will go up against each other tonight. Both were named to that honor earlier today and will likely be defending each other on the court.
  • OKC’s current seven game winning streak started just after the team signed free agent Royal Ivey to a 10-day contract. Thunder GM Sam Presti apparently isn’t the superstitious sort because he opted not to sign Ivey to a second 10-day contract when the original expired yesterday.

much better this season, which is really all that matters

Lol not anymore. He's rested in many games so far including the one in Toronto after beating Miami.

i hear ya…he is getting old….haven't watched a lot of nets game…how is kg doing…so intense when he played for the c's

please do not take last nights game into account when evaluating the nets. What you saw is not what the team has been about the past month. There was very little life, no ball movement at all in the 1h... Just total distraction. I love how Boston decided to do the tributes at the end of the first quarter lol. Totally screwed up the nets psyche

gotta agree here….they looked out of sync…i stayed away….gl

Added jazz tt over 53 and 106

think twolves 1st half over but thinking tibs will just muck this game up..only chance bulls have in this game

Last 5 games the nets bench is 1st in points, rebounds, assists and steals. 4th in FG%. Depth is ridiculous. Their bench could start on many teams in the league. And it allows the starters to rest. JJ had an awesome stretch of games and is now kind of cold. But it's ok.

I know I've asked this before, but why does it always seem so much darker inside Barclay's compared to other arenas? Maybe because the seats are darker than in other arenas around the league?
