A rant.......

The NFL is thinking of adding another Thursday night late game to make those Thursday nights doubleheaders. They are doing this to "Generate more interest." Here's a ideas that will generate more interest:

- Cut the commercials in half. Your game has become so boring that if there were no fantasy leagues I truly believe there would be no NFL.

- After a field goal the other team gets the ball immediately on their 35. No commercials then kickoffs then more commercials. Play resumes as soon as the refs get a new ball. Except in the last two minutes so an onside kick could be done if the scoring team is losing.

- Don't fucking wait until the commercials are over before coming back and saying there is a challenge and we are now going back for more commercials. The announcers are fully capable of saying "While we were away such and such threw the challenge flag and the refs are reviewing the last play. Here's the replay in slow motion for you to decide. And don't worry, we will play it at least 50 times for you and talk about it until you pass out."

- Push to Legalize gambling because after fantasy leagues wear out that will be the only thing left that could save you.

- And stop the endless pregame shows. Does anyone really watch all that shit?

- While you're at it stop you pregame analysts from grinning and laughing all the time. It is not fun to watch these morons so quit trying to make it a comedy show. Fuck I hate that shit.

I'm sure you have some of your own but I had to say at least these.

Sides: All for 5 units

Boston/Detroit over 7 -110

I see 1-0 in the first game then a lot of runs and last night was 1-0 so tonight means a lot of runs right? I seriously hope you don't think that is my only reasoning. :)

LA ML -170

Have to back Greinke in this one but I do it reluctantly because the damn Dodgers can't score any runs. They shouldn't need many here though so I will take them.

I will be going to NYC with the wife for the weekend. Just for the hell of it as she loves the big city. I'm more comfortable at the track or in a casino but 23 years of marriage has taught me to make her happy. "Yes honey that dress looks great on you and you should buy it. No, $500 isn't too much!" I will be back to update the other game but after that I will talk to you again on Monday. GL

Gotta love that rant. Agree 100% with all of it.

I tell my younger married friends there are 4 magic words you must never forget-
" Whatever You say, Dear "

GL tonite. And I hope those 8 runs are scored by Red Sox.

agree with everything in your post...

bad news is i expect the commercials to only get heavier and heavier going forward...a lot of fools watch the pregame shows because they have nothing better to do, and the networks have no other money-making programming to offer, so they will continue to ram the extracurricular extravaganzas down our throats. professional sports leagues have made a full commitment over the last decade or so to be a fully-functional money-making engine rather than an example of quality athletic competition.

Agree on the rant. Only good thing about NFL Thursday night games is the auto-play on the 1H under because teams have no prep time, go with conservative gameplans then make adjustments at half. Clown Goodell thinks that the reason the ratings suck is that there's only one game, hilarious. He's completely failing to appreciate that the reason that college games are a better Thursday night product than NFL games is that college games often follow a bye week for the teams (and even if they don't, they still have an additional day of prep time).
