Less is hopefully more!

PHILADELPHIA -119 (2 UNITS) - Old Man Moyer has an incredible 14 starts in a row where he has allowed 3 runs or less. He has allowed just 2 HR's in his last 57.3 innings and in 25.7 innings against the Mets this season, he has a 2.81 ERA and .215 average allowed.

UNDER OAK/LAA 1ST 5 INNS 4 (-120) (1.5 UNITS)

In Greg Smith's last 19 starts, he is 18-1 UNDER and is on a 13-0 UNDER run. Greg Smith has been quite effective in his rookie season against the Angels. Over the last 3+ years, John Lackey has thrown 105.7 innings against the A's and allowed 82 hits, 29 earned runs (2.47 ERA) with a 92:29 K:BB ratio. Overall A's hitters are a collective .244 against Lackey with just 3 HR's in 189 AB's. Vlad Guerrero is doubtful.

ST. LOUIS -111 (1.25 UNITS)
ST. LOUIS -109 1ST 5 INNS (1.25 UNITS)

Brewers have had a very soft schedule the past month and come into a playoff type atmosphere in a critical short series against the Cards. The Cards have huge revenge on their minds after being swept over a month ago by Milwaukee. Todd Wellemeyr has actually outpitched Ben SHeets of late. If you ignore Sheets' one recent start against the hapless Nats, in his other 4 most recent starts, he has been mediocre at best, tossing 24 innings and allowing 27 hits and 16 eanred runs (6.00 ERA). In Wellemeyer's last 6 starts, he has allowed 3 runs or less in each start and has thrown 36.3 innings and allowed 31 hits, 10 earned runs (2.48 ERA) with a 24:14 K:BB ratio. In two starts this year against the brewers, he has a 1.64 ERA. Over the past 3+ years, Sheets has an ERA over 4 against the Cards.

Greg Smith representing LSU well!

I'm on StL as well: homefield advantage + revenge + Wellemeyer

Wellemeyer's Achilles heel in the past has been his control but he seems to have good command of late and has clearly been a better pitcher than Sheets since the All-Star break.:shake:

GL Satyr!
