Thanks Cash. Terrible what MLB has become. As for Pete Rose, I was out In Las Vegas about 20 years ago staying in Caesars Palace. I was walking around the property, and I saw Pete Rose in a room signing autographs for $50. I stood in line and when it was my turn, I told him I was a big fan, and he gave me an autograph. I said it was a shame they hadn't put him in the Hall. He asked me if I ever played the game, and I said yes but only in the minors. He asked which system, and I said White Sox. He smiled and said so they paid you to play baseball? I said yes. He said there can't ever be anything wrong because they paid us for the greatest job in the world. Anyone can say whatever they like about Pete Rose, but I know he loved the game.

The greatest hitter of all time is not in the Hall of fame because baseball said he was involved in gambling. Look at MLB now and their sponsors and I dare anyone to say that again to me with a straight face. GL

Wait wait wait! I have to start by saying Rose was a larger than life player for me growing up in the 70’s. Who didn’t switch hit during whiffle ball street games because of him. I loved Rose BUT..
I’ve always believed we never got the full story of Pete Rose’s gambling addiction as a player and manager. We aren’t naive to think there’s not more to the story? Wasn’t it Rose who signed a lifetime ban with baseball while denying he gambled on baseball? Would Rose have signed his own ban to simply seal information on games he gambled his team to lose? That’s unforgivable in the eyes of MLB. Check the Black Sox for MLB’s stance on that one. Thats what we’re not being told because they made a deal on Rose’s signature that MLB is honoring. How many postseason games did Rose play in? Are we certain NOTHING took place in those games regarding his play? Is this only about regular season games?
Do we think baseball and Giamotti wanted to tarnish their game and an absolute Legend like Rose? When it comes to ruining the image of baseball, haven’t we already seen MLB is not going to side with players over themselves when caught cheating? Rose has only Rose to blame for his addiction and his own signature on being banned. He signed but he denied? Wtf is that?
This is about completely ignoring the 1 rule he absolutely could not break to cost baseball its integrity.
We know now after his death that he gambled as a player which we all know is STILL illegal. Not sure what part of the sign that hangs in every lockerroom which states the repercussions for gambling on baseball he didn’t understand? Regardless of what today’s laws are, that’s what he disregarded. He apologized only because he thought reinstatement would be considered.
I’m not a fan of how the MLB has picked and choose players to single out but I think they’ve placed Rose right where he belongs for the best interest of baseball. Like the sign says.
MLB Rule 21 prohibits players, umpires, and club/league officials from betting on baseball games or events, including those involving their own team, and outlines penalties for violations, which can range from suspension to permanent ineligibility.

Wise, Rose signed he did it because he was promised he would still be in the Hall and MLB went back on that deal. Rose said it many times. There is no reading into it. They made a deal to clear themselves then fucked him. Period. MLB can say they value the integrity of the game all they want but what about the Astros cheating and MLB said it was OK? They even went so far as to say they changed the way signals are given to the pitcher but cheat? Sure here's your World Series ring and that's OK? Naw. MLB went back on a deal of their making and have always put themselves in front of all players or fans.

They have some serious balls to say no one should gamble but they rake in gambling money on bets placed at their own park. Oh but I get it they can bet, fans can bet, anyone can fucking bet except not their players because that would be wrong. Hypocrites of the highest order. On this one we will always have to disagree. Always made me sick the way they did the hit king!! Cardinals been arguing for legal gambling last several years in Missouri cause they want kiosk right in stadiums! Hypocritical fucks! To be perfectly honest I wish all the dudes I bet had to bet on themselves! If anything that should help the integrity of the game! Obviously they have to bet on their team that all they proved Pete did right? Plus he was just a manager by then, unless you suck as bad as Rocco for twins you really not impacting games much, less so back then when pens weren’t that much a thing! Of course America’s pastime couldn’t really be truly ours without massive hypocrisies! Go USA! Lol

Oh and to expand on your rants from yesterday I didn’t have time to respond to. It hurts my soul deep down to see like 10-12k at a cardinals game over opening weekend! The weather wasn’t even bad as if that ever stopped us anyways! This loser front office has done the unthinkable, they have taken a team who Drew 3 mil + no matter how good or bad they were! It not just the fact these idiots made all kinds of terrible moves I started warning ppl this shit was coming 4-5 years ago. Can’t think the last time they made a correct decision about anything! Then they blame poor ticket sales on cutting payroll, these baseball owners love to talk bout losses and never about how much the equity in the team continues to rise no matter what awful shape they in!

If all that isn’t bad enough these clown show is so bad the main culprits behind this mess blessed us by staying on one more year to groom his replacement?!?!?!? Why do we want this guy learning anything from the guy who killed cardinals baseball? I havnt watched cards on tv outside the random espn Sunday night, or channel 2 game of week for years cause somehow I get every fox channel you could Ever want outside fox sports Midwest who carried their games forever, genius business move cutting a deal to keep your team off streaming services, cause we all know this tv thing just a fad!! Now they not even on fox sports, if I wanted to watch them I wouldn’t have a clue! More awesome marketing! Apparently after shunning streaming they took what I’m sure was a bud haircut to stream games on some service I don’t even know!! Lmfao! Gotta laugh to keep from crying!!
