I absolutely love baseball but have to admit, there was nothing about Dodgers vs Yankees and then Dodgers vs Mets that got me interested in early June. There was no conversations in my circle about either series. I really believe baseball needs to try something to make these games meaningful. Split the season could work if there was a way to keep the 1st half winner incentivized. Maybe the 1st half winner could be forced into a play in game if they don’t win the 2nd half?
Something has to be done other than baseball using live balls, bats and steroids. CFL Football sounds more interesting in June than baseball. Thoughts?

I havnt really been jacked for any matchups outside a few pitchers either. I figured it was more me and the year I’m having it hard to care bout much but you could be right. I have no clue how to fix it, I agree juicing everything up isn’t any more entertaining for me. I just wish more players and teams would go back to actually playing the game right, adding runs with stupid shit like a walk almost being automatic double w stealing being so easy doesn’t really do it for me. I’m still forced to watch a bunch of clowns refuse to choke up and make contact to get a runner home, I like pitching and strike outs but not because everyone in the lineup wants to be judge or Ohtani and swing out their damn shoes all 3 strikes no matter the situation, shit kills me. I understand the idea behind splitting it up to cause some urgency, that might work for some but wouldn’t change the things that annoy the hell out of me. Im fine with the idea cause wtf it matter who gets in playoffs now that they putting half the teams in anyways? To me that has hurt the product but it seems all ppl want is playoffs so it makes sense for them to let everyone in, it’s hard to have any sense of urgency when you know if you slightly better than .500 you most likely getting in.

Maybe if these gm’s stopped giving out 800 million differed contracts to only the guys who mash and actually split shit up and threw a bone to guys who play winning baseball instead of trying to get them all at bargain basement prices it would help? It never happen tho cause I guess that all ppl want is the big name insane numbers guys, the problem is there only a handful of them in the world that’s why they are who they are. We can’t just create more of them with bs stats and stupid launch angle being the be all end all. All that does is force us to watch some god awful baseball where damn near every pitcher worth a damn is striking out 1 per inning at least! I know pitchers stuff is more high octane with less innings and such but I still think if not everyone swung for the fences every at bat it could be better? Maybe not tho? Maybe they do need to lower the freaking mound? As much I bang on hitters it isn’t fair to them not to acknowledge the fact so many these pitchers are just filthy compared to the past. Other than lowering the mound I’m not sure the answer to that? The problem is it won’t change the fact everyone wants to mash, it will just let more guys hit home runs id guess.

I hate bitching bout the same issues the last several years and not having a good answer but maybe it just too late for baseball to be how we loved it? I think it’s easier to find guys who can throw a baseball hard and teach them to manipulate it w spin to be really damn hard to hit than it is guys who can actually follow and hit that shit? Technology and know how just got to good for the game to be as enjoyable, we can’t tell them not to pitch as filthy can we? Lol. I can see why all these hitters decide to close their eyes and swing as hard they can, maybe they have decided there no other way to do damage against these guys? I still think some choking up, moving runners, doing fundamental things right wouldn’t kill them but wtf do I know? That and they don’t care about the obvious fact 162 games is hard enough to create urgency but when you tell half the teams they getting in of course when the best play in June it doesn’t make much difference cause they all trying to be ready in October!!

I really think they should shorten the season, even at its best I’ve always found it incredibly stupid we play the World Series often in freezing ass nasty wet weather. Make the playoffs in August and sept before football cranks up and you would not only own those months but these games now would mean a lot more if you insist on so many playoff teams there really no need for 162 other than greed. Maybe they would make more per game tho if the cut down on the amount. Scarcity creates urgency, urgency is more fun to watch.

na just like the games he would just have more urgency to get them in a more condensed fashion! Except I think it would make the game somewhat better so maybe one less rant!
