Nice trip. Drove all around California and had a great time. We did end up in Vegas for a day and night and that was fun too. I have a friend who is a staunch republican, and he hates California just because of their politics. Goes on and on about how terrible it is there. Well sir, he's full of shit. I don't give a fuck what their politics are because as far as I am concerned California is an absolutely beautiful state and if I ever win the lottery I am moving there immediately.

Come to think of it, I don't much care what anyone's politics are. It's all a big fucking waste of time.

Couldn't find much to like today.

People who write off a state because of their politics are worse than politics themselves. Sorry.

Thanks inzane. It is amazing. I always appreciate the posts. GL

Sounds good Mike. I might join you. I have another friend from high school that is a staunch democrat living with his wife in Oklahoma. Figure that one out. You should see what happens when my politically polar opposite friends get together. I just sit there giggling while I watch the show. One time they got to arguing so much they told me to take a side and I said I'm an independent so fuck you both. GL

The Bay Area is very beautiful. I’m heading to Lake Tahoe this week for a little R&R on the boat.

I love SF. The boat sounds nice Wise. One of our detours was through Death Valley on the way to Las Vegas. 118 degrees and going up the mountain out of the valley we had to turn the AC off because the rental car started to show signs of overheating. That was a pretty warm 1/2 hour and I lived in Tucson in the 80's. GL

Indeed it is...ocean, mountains, deserts...lends itself to virtually any activity. Currently...Del Mar racing just started up...'Where the turf meets the surf'

Agree on disliking Cali’s politics bur agree with you even more tho. If I hit Megabucks out here, best believe I am retiring in Hermosa Beach!! GL Today!

Buy a house on Hermosa Beach but live somewhere else 51% of the time - no one has a right to over half your money - even if you win the lotto!

Going to San Diego next week, going to the padres game versus Shohei

Any recos?
Native San Diegan but been awhile since I've been back. But I could go to the Zoo every day. Love it there. Take the private tours if u can afford it. Always love dinner and drinks on Hotel Del patio overlooking ocean. Again little pricey. Beach always great. Hard to beat La Jolla and Del Mar. Have fun.

stay in the Gaslamp if you want to party, I always enjoyed the Hilton in Gaslamp, they have a nice penthouse. Then check out Sycuan Casino and Barona not too far away after the game. Stay on the beach like Mike said if you want to relax and near the parks.

I'm 62. Growing up there Horton Plaza (Gaslamp) was run down where all the drugs and hookers were. Worst place in town. San Diego Stadium built in 69 had cow pastures all around it. Dairy farms. Amazing how it transformed over the years. I used to drive out to Indian reservations before the casinos to play poker. They had poker rooms.

Thanks fellas!

Yes going to be in gas lamp area to walk to the stadium

$65 parking a day at hotel a little steep

Will probably Uber mostly

Yes zoo is in the plan

Wasn’t Horton known to be haunted? lol

Thanks!

I live on the coast about 30 minutes north of Pebble Beach. Never gets too hot here. After growing up on the NY-CT borderline and the extreme weather there, this is paradise.

Wow 65 is steep. Not surprising. Horton Plaza was the 1st project to revitalize downtown. I can't tell you how run down it was. Just a park like square with hookers drugs porn shops etc. I remember thinking it was crazy to try to revitalize it. But I don't remember any haunting. Lol wouldn't surprise me though. But boy it was bad. But now look at downtown. Glad zoo is in your plan. I was there about 5 years ago to guide friend and his wife. We did the private tour that included the 🐼 was awesome. I think they just got some pandas back from China but not on display yet. But again just love that place. Like going in Winter best but San Diego still nice in Summer. I do love the Hotel Del and Coronado beach if you have the time to get out there. You can just walk around fir free. Very beautiful. Anyway have fun
