Had a really great trip just to get away with the wife. Actually won a little which is rare. They don't build those big casinos because everyone always wins. Funny thing is I didn't bet one penny on baseball. Here at home there is nothing else to do but there is so much to do In Las Vegas that I don't want to spend 3 hours watching a game. And yes, I want to watch a game I bet on.
Holy shit Las Vegas was busy! I was expecting a quiet time but there were as many people or more as this time before the virus. So don't be surprised if you go. And you have to wear a mask in all casinos and they are strict about it. Unless you are eating or drinking "actively" which means don't have the damn mask off too long or they will come and tell you to put it back on if you are sitting at machines. Takes some getting used to wearing a mask 12 hours a day. But I have to say people were 99% compliant in the casinos and even about 70% wore their mask on the street where you don't have to. Tons of machines dark and chairs were few. The wife and I like to sit side by side and play those penny machines but you had to sit together on one machine if you could find another chair to pull up. They did have servers so you could order drinks like normal. And bars have plexiglass between the seats. Can't talk to each other. Once you get in most sit down restaurants the masks can come off for your whole dinner. That's a nice break. Craps and tables had the plexiglass as well so you were like in your own craps or blackjack world. If you are social you will hate it. I didn't mind it. Long, long, LONG lines to get snacks, pastry, or to buy anything. The airport was a zoo. Probably let up a lot on all this by end of June I'm guessing. Maybe a little sooner but they are really strict. I was talking to a security guard and I asked him why so strict? He said they had been told to be super strict because can you imagine the lawsuit if a customer sued because they caught covid at Bellagio? He said the security cameras were watching for masks as much as cheaters.
So if you are planning a trip and can live with all this great. If not, then wait til June or later to go out there.
