Thanks Wise. You are right by the way. Every time I say something negative about the NFL, I get backlash. So, I will hold my tongue and you won't ever hear me say again it has to be the most boring sport in the world because every time there is a good play, they throw a flag, and the commercials are so many and so long you can nap between them. 3 1/2 hours of nothing with only 20 minutes of actual action. Nope, I will never say I would rather watch the British Baking Show than the tearfully BORING NFL. GL

All x50 each

Cle/NYY over 5 -190 - Nothing changed from yesterday.
Atl/Phil over 6 1/2 -140 - Don't care who Braves throw because whoever trots out there has allowed 3 runs in their last start. I don't like Nola. I never have. But he will be better than Braves starter so ML bet on Phil is a good play with the home team and only -120 but I will stick to the over.
LA ML -110 - Gonsolin is better than Snell but that's not really important. I said before the season, during, and now I will take LA -130 or less against anyone they play.

By the way, I have heard a lot of sports "experts" on TV tell me how SD stadium will be crazy the fans are so fired up. Please do not use that as a factor in your decision to bet SD. Bet them because they get last at bats being home or because you actually think SD will win for some other reason but trust me screaming fans have no effect to motivate the players. I say that as a former player, and I will say for the millionth time you can't have emotion playing baseball. React after the fact but get "fired up" before and you will fail. Besides, if LA gets out to an early lead the fans will be sitting there on their phones sipping their beer very quietly. I will even go one step further and say the habit of the home team fans standing and cheering when their pitcher gets two strikes on the batter is a distraction to their pitcher. Very bad practice and I guarantee you all those home town pitchers would love to have their fans just sitting the fuck down and let the pitcher do his job.

Now all I can do is give you my perspective on the game as it's played. I can't convince you that emotion stays out of it until after the fact when you are constantly hearing these talking heads trying to convince you otherwise. But I will ask you one question. Have you ever seen a batter jumping around or motioning to his teammates while he is in the batters box BEFORE he hits or a pitcher turning around and telling his infield you can relax now because I am going to strike this motherfucker out? Never. But that would be emotion BEFORE the fact wouldn't it? GL

Lol. And now the NFL is talking about reviewing Sacks for roughing the passer. Rams had a TD taken away this year because some clown official in the booth buzzed down right at the snap because he felt a player needed to be removed from the field. Whats worse is the official on the field didn’t have the common sense to think he was buzzed too late and there’s no way he was going to interfere with a play inside the 10 yard line. I’m AMAZED how much sports is being destroyed because they want to keep changing the rules. GL today

home field in baseball is incredibly overrated!

With you on over in the bronx. Gonsilin is only gonna throw about 75 pitches from what I understand so it gonna be a pen game in San Diego. I don’t trust Snell at all but pads pen been fantastic so far this series. I like the over in that one as well.

And I got your back, FUCK THE NFL!!!

FYI:

BetOnline has HRE Over 22.5 +105 in the Indians game, if you're looking for another way to attack the total.

GL fellas.

The worst thing with the nfl that been going on for a decade plus is every change basically gives the refs more and more control of the outcome. It kinda like how the government uses the illusion/promise of safety as a way to infringe on our freedoms, nfl uses the shroud of player safety as a way to effectively control outcomes of games.

If they truly gave a shit bout getting things right there would just be a guy or 2 in a booth watching the same shit we are, anytime he sees they obviously fuck anything up to call down and say change it! No stoppages or ref who made the terrible call going into a box to look at it, why we want the same idiot who got it wrong policing himself? It not ethical and it a total waste of time! I saw it once on Monday night, the guy was clearly short the goal line on a called td, someone called down and says he was short and it was fixed instantly, what so hard about doing that with everything?

I played at a high level too. From my experiences every situation is situational. Every player and every team responds differently to the circumstances presented. Its never all this or all that. I cant speak for other players much like they cant speak for me. I will say this about baseball. You cant swing the bat harder or pitch faster because you’re playing at home or its a must win, but to say homefield crowd energy isn’t an advantage at times wouldn’t be accurate to gage sitting at home watching from the couch. The old Yankee Stadium overwhelmed teams at times. Arizona game 7 in 2001 was overwhelming. Its our history to see teams win way more games at home than on the road. Again, we’re not that good to be speaking for everyone on how others respond and this is coming from an All-America and National champion. GL

Thanks inzane. Always appreciated. GL

Thanks Pro. I appreciate it. GL

Thanks Bank. I didn't know that about Gonsolin. GL

Should have seen that earlier Chip. Good idea. GL

Thanks Wise. You played at a high level and you know home field energy better not be a factor for the reasons you stated that you can't hit, catch, or throw harder because people are cheering you on. As you know you play this game almost ice cold and you must remain level headed if you are to perform well. I will grant you there may be a few, but very few, that get more up if the crowd is rooting for them but when the pitch is thrown they are still in that mind bubble which you have experienced. Teams always win more at home than on the road but you also know the value of batting second and the advantage that gives you to push runners over because you already know what the other team did. And I'm not just talking about the last inning. Steals, hit and runs, bunts all of it is to the advantage of the home team if they are tied with the other team. Home team sees and knows what has to be done to get ahead. That is the true home field advantage.

And finally, as you say, we might not have been that good to speak for everyone but we have played at a level that 99% of the other people haven't and they don't have a clue what goes through a players head. They just hear the spew coming from the talking heads and "experts" many of whom have never even picked up a little league bat let alone play pro ball or high college and for those people I am more than qualified to speak for other players because what those 99% of people are hearing is just not true. And when you look at it from that perspective, I'm sure you would agree.

By the way, and this is not directed at Wise but all you others reading this. You know what is really fun? Look at the situations where the batter has two strikes and the home pitcher gets the crowd to rise up and cheer them on. I saw that situation 10 times today and the result was two strikeouts, 6 walks, and two hits. Seriously, look at that when it happens, and you will see how distracting it is for the pitcher more often than helps them. GL

Anyone else watching this west coast game pulling their hair out as runners all over the bases every damn inning keep getting stranded???? I’m bout to lose my shit!

4th inning and only down by two but he will keep him in til it's out of reach. Fuck it. I'm going to bed. This is over. GL

None these Mfers can get runners home to save their lives. Every damn inning they all over the bases and nobody can’t get a damn hit or even simply make contact when they need to.

I really believe you will enjoy the NFL Pro Bowl this year……. FLAG FOOTBALL, no joke, make sure you buy extra popcorn & peanuts

Yea. In sports its all situational. Anything at anytime with anyone. We’d like to think the home crowd doesn’t play a roll but Wire said it himself. Crowd gets up and roars during a 2 strike count for their pitcher to get a K. Pitcher would rather not have that noise or pressure. What pitcher feels that? I don't think Ron Guidry felt that way. At least he never mentioned it. The walk up songs for hitters and pitchers. Does it help? Ask each individual for that answer. Is the game 80% mental, I think it is, some think 50% of the game is half mental. Lol
Every player and every team is different.

Never know one guy to next, I know a guy like waino absolutely feeds off it and pumps a pitch several mph harder in those spots. Some guys don’t know how to properly channel emotion and can’t hit broad side of barn when get amped up, some do. My overall theory with bases tho is I think home field gets priced more than it probably worth in most cases.
