You dont know what you dont know. I think that is a famous quote somewhere. Who said it i have no clue.
Slow day at work yesterday so i had some time to ponder why i tried to create a model and what i was hoping it would achieve.
At the root, i would consider my style a value bettor with a heavy concentratiin of dogs. Not referencing these baseball plays in general, but as a betting style.
What became apparet was 2 things. 1. The model was selecting plays that werent in my style and 2. I was looking at the wrong side of things.
Notwithstanding these 2 items, i found an error in my calculations that was weighing heavily to one set of plays. I have corrected that. Although i initially thought i wasted a whole month...it was not for nothing. I had a months worth of data to look at.
Having said all that, i have simplified a few things and hope this new testing phase will work better.
