Milwaukee @ Tor. Game 6 - thoughts

Stew Baker

Pretty much a regular
Milwaukee came into the playoffs at the outset, and more recently, the ECFs,, as the object of high expectations, After overcoming a sluggish start in game 1, dominating in game 2, and losing a close, tough battle in Toronto's must win game in game 3, they had the opportunity to secure a virtual chokehold in the series with a win in game 4. If they were the team many thought they were, they would have embraced the opportunity in the face of the high expectations and playoff pressure. Instead, they totally shit the bed. Those who were forgiving enough to give them the benefit of the doubt after this pathetic performance in a critical spot said they would come up big in game 5, but they did nothing of the sort, turning the ball over and failing to make plays at critical times. It looks like Milwaukee will continue to be beset by unfavorable matchups and inferior play, a tough formula to win with on the road. The only thing I see that they have going for themselves, is that many have written them off, and the pressure is more on Toronto. This may make a difference, but maybe not.

This series to me has the same feel as the 2009 ECFs where Orlando faced off against Cleveland. The similarity lies not in how the individual games played out, but in how the books kept pricing the favorite (which, in that matchup was Cleveland) as the significantly better team even though they were being outplayed. Orlando closed them out at home in game 6, as a 2 point favorite.

Good stuff and I have seen the similarity a few times today....one due to Giannis/Bron same age and winning MVP the same year....(although Bron went to the finals the year before).

"The Bears ... they are what we thought they were. We played them in preseason—who the hell takes a third game of the preseason like it's bullshit? Bullshit! We played them in the third game—everybody played three quarters—[they] are who we thought they were ... "

Let's try this again.

The Bucks ... they are what we thought they were. They're what we thought they were! We played them in the regular season—who the hell takes the regular season like it's bullshit? Bullshit! We played them in the regular season—everybody played four games—the Bucks are who we thought they were! That's why we got onto the damn court. But they are who we thought they were! And we didn't let 'em off the hook!

all about numbers...

The game was the Raptors 100th game of the season, 100th post-season game in history, and won by scoring 100 points.

Game 6, won by 6, in the 6IX
