Mike Leach

32 point lead in the second half and from that point you score two TD's and you still lose ... how is that possible?

Because he's an arrogant dipshit whose philosophy is to win you just need to score more points then the other team. Stopping them is optional. It works against shit teams, not so much teams with talent. It's why he is something like 20-48 against ranked teams. He has a winning record at Texas Tech and Wazzu, but can't get a big job. There is a reason for that

Another dud from Washington State. The fat and arrogant coach talking about his soft players getting press and liking to read it. This coming from the guy who spends as much time working up cute quotes as he does working on game plans and figuring out how not to blow 2H, 5+ touchdown leads to garbage teams.

More juice for the cultists to inhale in mass quantities. More evidence why this clown will never sniff a big job.

Ok ... I kind of disagree with the Leach bashing in here.

The four years prior to his arrival the team was 9-40. He turned them into what they are now, which is not a National Title Team Contender but is a very quality club.

Prior to his arrival at Texas Tech the school had two 9 win seasons from 1977 to 1999. Two. He did that four times in his decade coaching there and never posted a losing record. In the decade since he left Texas Tech, they haven't done it (win 9 games) since him and they have posted losing records five times.

These schools he is at are not easy to win at. He is a good football coach. Flawed for sure .. but overall, he overachieves with the jobs he has had.

He's a great offensive mind, no doubt. And throwing his players, coaches and anyone else that came in handy under the bus was tolerable the first, and maybe even the second time. But after the 6th or 10th time, it's gotten a bit old. Maybe it's Leach's cute schtick but at some point it just gets tiresome, and warrants the criticism.

Whenever Leach stops blaming his players and coaches, takes a good look in the mirror and shuts the hell up, then people will let up. Until then, he deserve everything he gets.

My thoughts on Leach are that he was an innovative offense mind that brought a lot of new stuff to the table that other teams weren’t prepared for, and that allowed him to mask the talent discrepancy his teams had. But as CFB has evolved, his stuff isn’t so revolutionary anymore, and so the fact that he is quite poor at everything else - recruiting, defense, managing his coaching staff - that he’ll never rise above being OK. And his fairly consistent throwing under the bus of his players rather than assistants act just grows tiresome.
