MIGGY or TROUT??

Mo

Pretty much a regular
I have 1st pick in 12 man draft. Which??? I'm leaning Miggy because of the Tiger's pitching staff.

If your asking I say Trout, better all around player and expecting a big year from Albert and Miggy has lost a little protection.

What does the Tigers' pitching have to do with this pick?

Trout, without a doubt. I wouldn't be surprised to see Miggy miss a bunch of games due to injury.

I had #1 and took Trout....but its a keeper. Not that it matters much but Tiger doesn't have Prince hitting behind him this year so might get pitched around more. Also you'd figure Angels and Pujols in particular to be better this year than last.

What does the Tigers' pitching have to do with this pick?
I was thinking that the Tigers PS is supposed to be pretty good this year. If that's the case. There will fewer opportunities for opposing PS to pitch around Miggy, since, chances are, they will be behind.

The stolen base is the great trump card when it comes to fantasy baseball.

Trout can hit 40 HR's, but can Miggy swipe 40 bags?
Trout can hit .350, but can Miggy swipe 30 bags?

As much as I love Miggy (since I seem to get him on a team or two every year, and, he's always performed like a champ for me), I think I'd have to go Trout this year...although it's very tough. The stolen bases is the difference. But, if you asked me who is the safer pick, I'd still say Miggy is the safer play. Again though, I'd ultimately roll with Trout this year with the #1 pick in the draft.

Question for you... After that 1st pick, who/what positions would you be eyeing with the #24 and #25 picks?

since 2004...

Not about this discussion as far as which player but what leads you to this?
I was going by what I saw in the playoffs where he was very gimpy. As he gets older, he might be more injury prone, maybe not. That track record you posted is a pretty good track record though by him, pretty much playing the whole season.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Im thinking I might take Angels PS also. Looks to be a sleeper

team HR rank in 2013: seattle (2nd) oakland (3rd) and texas (8th). all added offense. granted seattle had a crappy offensive stats besides that and fell in the bottom half in runs, but I'm not sure the angels are the best play. Only two NL teams finished in the top 10 in MLB in runs (one colorado at 10 which hardly counts)... seems like there's immediate extra value in an entire NL staff due to the effects a lack of DH has.

KK. I have Bautista and Ian Desmond slated for 24 and 25. Whatcha think

I think those would both be solid picks, but, like always, depending on how picks 2-23 go, there may still be other players on the board offering better value.

I especially like Desmond with one of those two picks since you're already getting a great HR/RBI guy with the #1 pick and Desmond will help you in more overall categories than Bautista while still providing decent power numbers (especially for a SS).

I think there will be a decent Pitching staff available. Some guys prerank pitching staffs very high. Not sure why

My top 25 preranked. Trout. Miggy. McCutcheon. Goldschimdt. Ellsbury. Harper. Cargo. Davis. Adam Jones. Beltre. Hanley Rameriz. Kipnis. Votto. Encarnacion. Cano. Wright. Fielder Braun. Pence. Longoria. Gomez. Bautista. Desmond.

Thinking I might flip flop Desmond and Bautista. Im thinking he will be available. A few guys like to draft PS early. Which leaves a higher chance that Ian will be there

well if the Question is who is the better hitter not even close cabrera just check last year stats . it's like in music ELVIS vs JACKSON not even close the KING baby mint gov mint to the bank baby:badass:
