Matt Jones likes coke... and will probably be cut

According to the Washington County, Arkansas Sheriff's Office, Jaguars WR Matt Jones was arrested early Thursday for felony possession of a controlled substance, believed to be cocaine.

Police allegedly found Jones in his car chopping cocaine with a credit card. Jones is holding his head high in his arrest photo, but he'll likely be cut shortly. According to the Sheriff's office, Jones has a hearing set for Friday. This is his first arrest in the NFL, but Jones was already on the roster bubble and has been a mainstay in Jack Del Rio's doghouse the past two years. Jul. 10 - 9:39 am et

Wow, what a way to throw away a career. A drug issue would explain away a lot of how he's been since coming into the league. Ton of potential with that guy, zero payoff.

Never really found a true position at this level though.

small straws have ruined many a life in this country. looks like matt jones will add to those statistics instead of his nfl statistics.

He just needs a good lawyer, a fallguy, and a insincere apology. Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Titans uniform.

using a credit card is the best way the chop up your coke , or a grinder...But you have to remember to lick your card clean after your done because coke gets stuck in the letters..

It sure is a shame, it really pisses me off to see players like Matt Jones wasting talent by getting into bulshit like this. They have the world at there fingers and they just have to steer clear of trouble for 11 or 12 years and they can live the rest of their lives very comfortably. You can say that he can't separate himself from his "hood" or "the streets are all he knows" but the bottom line is he doesn't live in that world anymore and he is expected to be somewhat of a rolemodel.

In the season debut of his radio show on WOKV in Jacksonville, Jags head coach Jack Del Rio said that WR Matt Jones will be with the team when training camp opens later this month.
Many thought Jones would be released shortly after his arrest for felony cocaine possession earlier this month. The Jags, though, "feel like this is something that he’ll have to deal with personally with the law . . . and we’ll help him work through it." It's possible that his second chance could finally wake Jones up, but it seems more likely that he'll still be cut before the season opener. Jul. 22 - 9:20 pm et
