Chiefs And Rams Advance To Super Bowl In Madden 19 Simulation

Rams at Saints

NFL Picks: Rams ML & Under

This game went back-and-forth, with both quarterbacks attempting at least 39 passes and leading long drives. The Saints' strongest offensive effort came in the second quarter in which a touchdown pass from Drew Brees and touchdown run from Mark Ingram put them ahead 17-14. The third quarter was mostly quiet and then the fourth quarter saw 21 combined points. A Todd Gurley seven yard reception from Jared Goff put the Rams ahead. A 45-yard touchdown pass from Brees to top receiver Michael Thomas evened the game back up. With 10 seconds left in the game, Goff threw the game-winning touchdown to Brandin Cooks. The Rams won on the road 31-24, proving that Brees isn't invincible in the Dome, after all.

Both quarterbacks put on a show, with Goff going 25-for-39 for 354 yards and three touchdowns. Brees went 34-for-46 with 351 yards and two touchdowns. Todd Gurley led all rushers with 82 yards.

Patriots at Chiefs

NFL Picks: Chiefs ML & Over

The AFC Championship game was tight throughout and actually ended in overtime. The Chiefs held the advantage at half-time because Mahomes threw two touchdown passes and Brady only one. One of those touchdown passes was to the newly healthy Sammy Watkins. The touchdown drives were mostly methodical. In the fourth quarter, Patrick Mahomes achieved the longest pass of the day on a 49-yard touchdown to speedster Tyreek Hill. Tom Brady was clutch, as usual. With only a few minutes left in the game and down by seven, he marched his team down the field and threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Julian Edelman in order to tie the score at 27. In overtime, a Harrison Butker 26-yard field goal sufficed to give KC a 30-27 win.

Mahomes had a much better game than his playoff debut against the Colts. He went 28-for37 for 327 yards and three touchdowns. Brady threw for three touchdowns as well, but also an interception. Tyreek Hill led all receivers with 6 receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown. His 67 yards after the catch were almost twice as many as any other receiver. The overall stats suggest that this game was actually not so close. The Chiefs dominated in terms of total yardage and time of possession. There never seemed to be any doubt that they would come out on top.

Takeaways

The Saints' home field advantage has been built by the "experts" into mythological proportion, yet the Rams were able to come away with the upset victory. On the flip side, the Chiefs had suffered historically so many big-game losses at home. But they triumphed against Brady and New England. In both games, the winning team's passing attack was decisive. Goff and Mahomes were great and this is surely what the NFL wants, considering how high the TV ratings were for the ridiculously high-scoring Monday Night Football showdown between these two teams in Week 11.

Looks like several FGs in that KC game, wondering if you have how long they were (accounting for basically kicking a medicine ball that night)

Thought it was Cowboys/Saints in the Conference ship. Who won in that universe?

In reality it is Cowboys/Saints. But for people who live in the simulated universe it‘s Rams/Saints.

Just let them enjoy their illusion Gandolf. Looking forward to watching Boys/Saints with ya
