LSU FIX

Just when you think you've seen it all! My man then tried to score after taking two knees in a row. Very suspect.

Coach O's answer about it was confusing also. He said something to the effect 'we try to run it out and score and if we can't score we take a knee'. They could've scored twice and never took a knee. According to the announcer Bower was looking towards the sideline before the final play signaling with his arms 'TD or not?' and then they ran the RB dive to try and score. Weird.

At first the announcers thought it was stupid for him to slide rather than score, not knowing Arkansas was already out of timeouts they said 'you want to go up by two scores I don't know about that'.

Was just a bunch of people all around that didn't know what was going on or should go on. The only smart one was RB #4 who was just trying to end the game with the ball in his team's hands rather than having to out and put their D on the field again.

Oh, and I had Ark +13! I feel very fortunate! Also had USF +14/16 ~ another fortunate outcome the way it ended up.

Had that one too. Fortunate to get the penalty because cincy def esp trying to score

Tough game to watch at the end last night. Had the distinct feeling that LSU was playing to keep it close. That’s sad. I’ve seen that before in the pros and now seeing it in college in a few games. It won’t change my appetite for the game though. I played ball and would never think about not scoring, that’s what pisses me off more than anything. Shame on LSU and that young man for taking a knee. Playing the game takes situational awareness and this team lacks that as a whole. IMO

He gave them a chance to kneel out the game. That's as situational as it gets. Score and give them the ball back? What are you talking about? Sorry man, but that "young man" was the smartest man on the field.

And you saying shame him? That's nothing but losing gambling speak. The only shame is for anyone trying to run another play.

Teams do and have come back from two scores in the last minute of a game. You do realize that correct?

Whoa. Mr. KJ, as a former running back, knowing that the opposing team has no time outs, I’m scoring. That’s what I did when I played. Why have a defense? What’s the use of even running a play with that information? No timeouts left in game. Seems to be more to this than meets the eye. The pure ness if the game is being questioned. IMO

But it's knees. Game's over. Why score and give them even a .00001% of scoring and getting the onside when you've won the game?

You're losing me here mate

Refer to the movie Blue Chips. The only pure thing in sport is the game without any outside influences. IMO , as a former running back, I’m not taking a knee, I’m scoring. Seems to me there could have, and probably was, some outside influences that affected the outcome of the game. We can agree to disagree. By the way, as a former football coach, I wouldn’t tell any of my players not to score in a situation similar to last nights game. I hope I never see it again from a runnning back.

I think this has a new awareness for everyone, players included, after the much publicized Todd Gurley slide before the EZ. Like everything in our life today, that was met with 50-50 praise and criticism. My opinion is the RB was probably influenced by the positive of that move by sacrificing his individual achievement for the team goal. And thinking "hey if Todd Gurley did it, it must be smart thing to do".

I get it. I've heard it from other former players. Apparently, the rich kids in Highland Park were ahead of the curve. Angie Harmon's cousin told me how sick he felt when the "let 'em score" play call came in from the sidelines in the high school playoffs in 1983 or '84.

But they did let 'em score.

Easy to see the correct side when you don't have $$ on the team needing the score to cover, we've all been there before
