Looks like linemaker has probably caught up to Boise State

pstone

Pretty much a regular
For most of the past dozen years (until the last two), playing Boise State blindly every game during any season at least churned out a small profit. From 2008-10, in fact, the Broncos were 26-12 ATS overall. While Boise has inarguably been slightly "down" the past two years, it bears noting that it was only 11-15 ATS overall against the spread (That while concurrently fashioning a 23-3 straightup mark). To look more closely, Boise is just 2-11 in its last 13 games as a home favorite on the magical blue turf. While Boise's profile hasn't changed much, the linemaker has clearly grown tired of handing out money to people riding the magic carpet ride. Adjustments have been made. Good luck, Paul

Thinking the change to the mighty Mountain West probably has something to do with this as well. Good info... GL Paul

There were people 3-4 years ago that some down here considered to be real sharp that were betting Boise almost every week regardless of the line. I think that was a real wake up call in the minds of the bookmakers who are not afraid to write a bet. There has been a Boise Tax, so to speak, added to a lot of the send-outs from Vegas and offshore. Jack at CRIS might get five different guys to send him numbers ranging from say, Boise -15, 14.5, 16, 18 and 18. He would in the past open in the middle, say 16 or 16.5. Since about 2010 or 11, the open would come 17.5 almost for sure, and maybe 18, just to dodge the early Boise money. Doing that now, he might have even got those same sharps to bet the dog early to drive the price back down inside 17 for when the rest of the markets were to open. It used to not be that way.

They've been a dog once in the last 3 years...and lost that game. They figure to be a dog in the opener this year. The real question is, when will they next be a dog in a conference game?
