Congrats on the great recruiting class bro...Saban is definitely paying off. But y'all gotta step back and take off those Crimson colored glasses.

Bama is a stellar 53-46 in the 2000's with two decent seasons 10-2 in '05 & 10-3 in '02...one NICE recruiting class ain't gonna transform y'all into SEC Champs.

Mully

mulligan, You must have forgotten how bad LSU was before Saban. Not a Bama fan and really can't stand Saban but he is going to turn Bama around very quickly.

Bro, gotta give Bama fans some shite...don't want anyone to forget the Tide Faithful beating their collective chests about how Saban would impact 2007: 7-6, 4-4...:36_11_6:...losing to La-Monroe...:36_11_6:

And while I agree that Saban is/will "turn around" Bama...I disagree that it will result in an SEC Championship "in a maximum of three years".

Bama of '08 is facing a damn tough SEC...LSU, GA, UF, Auburn, Tenn all currently vastly SUPERIOR to Bama and not getting weaker anytime soon.

2008 Recruiting Classes: LSU #9 (rising), GA #4, UF #1, Auburn #16 (rising)...there is nothing in these rankings pointing toward Bama #3 jumping the big boys and going from 4-4 to 8-1 in the SEC anytime soon.

If Tide fans would take off those crimson colored glasses they'd realize Bama clearly belongs with the improving 2nd class citizens of the SEC: USC, Arky, UK and Messy St.

Mully

I've heard rumbling Jones might pull a shocker and go to USC...find it hard to believe tho since he hasn't visited out there.

aye, i have a hard time believing we get julio with the offensive coaching turmoil. At least we had a coordinator for the last week, even if he couldn't talk to JJ. JJ does seem like a homeboy, though. we'll see.

Lawrence obviously isn't the smartest kid to come out of HS, so I'm with you Jump.

mully, give me a fucking break. you think i haven't thought heard that ULM shit? 08-09 is going to be ugly. I will be fucking impressed if we hit the 8 win mark. Don't you think having the toughest schedule in the country will benefit our young team for the 09 season? 3 years is a long time, enjoy your run while it lasts. You think you'd be having this run if the NCAA decided to investigate and take away those precious scholarships? How about USC, or OU? Everyone knows what happened to Alabama football. fucking haters...

USC, UK, Arky, and Messy St, huh? that's fucking laughable, bro. Do you even remember the last time your gators came to Tuscaloosa? You're boys who thought it'd be fun to sit in the student section near me sure as hell do.

See ya in a few years.

how bout dem apples UF fans...

lost 2 4stars this morning to UM and UM

rumor is that Omar Hunter is headed to UGA as well after Dwayne Allen left UGA and headed to Clemson.

what I'm getting at is UA has a legit chance to be #1 this year... as I said above.

I wish UF would give us back TJ Lawrence, kid was a silent until Urban took him away

The one they did lose.

Well, Melbourne (FL) Palm Bay High School athlete Ramon Buchanan's recruitment begs for a new word: "Recommitment."

Buchanon committed to Miami early in the recruiting process before decommitting to Florida. But then he took an official visit to UM last weekend, loved it and decided to become a Cane.

He is confirmed as a UM signee in one of the more surprising developments of this recruiting season.

His coach, Dan Burke, gave CaneSport the go-ahead to release the news.

"You got him," Burke said. "He's a Cane."

The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder initially committed to Miami in July, saying at the time, "I wanted to go there because I like their coaches. Coach (Michael) Barrow, he's real cool. And I have family down there - my grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, most everyone in the family."

Buchanan says he could play strong safety at the next level, but that he was recruited as a linebacker.

He is choosing the Canes despite attending Palm Bay, which has been a pipeline for UF in the past.

"It's kind of tough – there's a lot of Florida fans around," Buchanan says.

He adds, "Fans here are Florida fans, they say I should go there. There's a lot of people I know around here that are Gator fans."

As a junior Buchanan finished with over 100 tackles and 10 sacks. He had over 100 tackles with three interceptions this season while playing linebacker and safety.

"Ramon does it all for us, to be honest," Palm Bay High coach Dan Burke says. "He lines up on special teams, running back and obviously linebacker. He's the type of player you talk about that only comes around every once in a while. Ramon is about as dominant as they come."

Buchanan says he hears the most comparisons in his play to Reggie Nelson, who chose Florida out of Palm Bay.

"That's who my coach compares me to," Buchanan said.

at 11:30, Carolina should get Chaz Sutton, UF's reject who they pulled schollie on cause he isn't going to qualify. Then they heard we would place him and Urban all of a sudden wanted to place him. He hasn't done that with 1 recruit at UF

These Clemson recruiters can sell ice to an eskimo. They don't even use a TE and they steal a kid like Allen from UGA. Their class is shaping up nice, too bad they can't coach worth shit

Thing about Quinn is... His dad tells USC he thinks they are second rate program. What the fuck is UNC.

Now if he went for academics, thats diff

I will laugh my ass off if Clemsux doesn't get Jamie Harper though.

They took his shitty teammate (Daniel Andrews) because they were "suppose" to be a package deal.

yeah, its exactly what our program needed, a huge pool of talent to pull from. no doubt about it, this state has the best class in the country, and UA is benefiting greatly.

Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson four-star center prospect Ricky Barnum has always liked Rich Rodriguez dating back to the U-M coach's days at West Virginia. On Wednesday morning, he proved just how much …

Barnum, a 6-2, 275-pounder, is Rivals.com's No. 5 center prospect and a four-star recruit. He's the No. 37 player in the state of Florida and was considered one of the "fast risers" at the January Under Armour high school all-star game in Florida.

"My sophomore year I didn't know the plays," Barnum told GatorBait.net. "I used to ask our linemen. In the game, I would be like, 'Which way do I block?' I never dedicated myself to learn the plays. If I would've gotten more into it when I was younger I could have been a whole lot better.

"When I saw it could happen was when I got my first letter. I saw the light and I said I could really do something. Waking up at four in the morning, we had school at seven, but we would stay practicing all the way to six and then go back after school. We would do offensive line drills, push the sled, a whole lot of drills that revolve around offensive linemen. We'd be out there at 4 a.m. to go do the drills, go take a shower and then go to school and then go do it all over again after school."

Now, he'll go down as one of the best his school has ever seen.

"I remember my coach (Keith Demyer) telling me early on if I just worked hard I would've been one of the best linemen he ever had," Barnum said. "That meant a lot. Coach just pushes me. I have coaches that push me. I like being competitive."

Enrique Davis commits to Ol' Miss over the Barn...

not sure how legit this quote is, but its funny!

"If I had wanted to play in a high school offense I would've commited to Auburn" E. Davis

I believe that quote. He was pissed about the new offense

jesus, i hope not. if UA could get TJ Bryant or Harris AND JJ we can stay on top of Miami. its a long shot for either... clemson better than auburn though.

he doesn't announce until 2 CST though. TJ Bryant is next. like i said, i give UA 15% tops, but damn, it would be sweet.

word is Harris was with McClain on his trip for the PC

and this is a CLASSIC quote from a guy on a bama board....

We had a weather delay today and I'm the cuztodi..janitor at Gadsden City and 5 mins ago I heard him talking to himself in the little boys room and he was trying to talk himself into announcing for the Tigers, not sure which ones. Keep your expectations down. It makes the good news more intense!

Sutton coming to SC, thats bigtime for us. Kid is a player, hopefully he makes it in by next January, prob 30% chance of qualifying this yr.

otherwise, it was a somewhat disappointing end to recruiting for us, sort of like how we finished the season. ahhh

Bro, don't see either happening. Word is TJ is heading to FSU and Harris to The U...could shock the world and end up at OSU but that's about it. You WILL be getting JJ though (IMO)
