Orioles/Twins UNDER 8.5 -105 8 units.
My largest play of thes season to date. As many of you know I follow the Orioles religiously and here's my take on this UNDER:
Orioles 3-8 UNDER last four seasons in the dome.
Bullpens:
Baltimore's pen boasts a 2.73 ERA
Twins is 3.44, but over their last 9 games, Minny relievers have a 1.23 ERA...
Olsen ERA is 1.5 over last two starts. He's struggled a bit on the road but Twins have had their problems at home against lefties and they've never seen this kid before.
Orioles batting .240 vs. righties this year, .226 on thr road
Orioles are 11-19 UNDER on the road
Also Mike Redmond will get the start at catcher today for the Twins. Mauer normally takes day games off, and I don't exepect to see him in the DH spot. We'll know shortly.
As for the Umps - I know you guys really spend a lot of time on this. We've got Crawford behind the plate and he's definitely an over guy. But these numbers (8-2 over this season are such small sample sizes that its really tough for me to weigh the ump stats very high in my capping. Sure its something to look at, but it certainly falls way below things like bullpen, lefty/righty matchups, past history with clubs, etc.
Also if you look at Crawford's games going back four seasons that had totals below 9 he's 14-14; going back three seasons he's 7-11 UNDER on totals under 9. He's definitely got a tighter strike zone than most, but its not enough to take me off this one....
